LAGOS - 2015

VICTORIA SIPPED ON HER MARGARITA AS WANDA POURED A SACHET OF SUGAR INTO HER COFEE AND STIRRED. Tapping her spoon, Wanda turned and looked over her shoulder as she took a drink. Victoria looked at herself in a pocket mirror, noting as her veins were well concealed.

"Alright, what do you see?" Her kind of-nearly-not-established boyfriend's voice came through the comm in her ear. Another day, another mission. She thought she would've been able to try and live a normal life after the events of Ultron, but no; S.H.I.E.L.D only use her as an asset. Victoria aimed her mirror so she could see over her shoulder.

"Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street." Wanda listed.

"It's a good target." Victoria hummed, taking a drink.

"There's an ATM on the south corner which means..." Steve's voice came through again.

"Cameras."

"Both cross streets in one way?"

"So compromised escape routes." Victoria looked at the abundance of newspapers on their cafe table, all with the so called 'Crossbones' on their front pages.

"Means our guy doesn't care about being seen, he isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out. You see that ranger over half way up the block."

"You mean the red one. It's cute."

"It's also bullet proof," Natasha's voice came in through their comms, Victoria glanced over at her as Nat raised her mug to her lips to disguise the fact she was talking to 'herself'.  "Which means private security, which means more guns, which means more headaches for somebody, probably us. "

"You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?" Wanda said, also taking a drink. Victoria rolled her eyes, refraining herself from making a sarcastic comment. Bravo, Wanda. She thought, bitter.

"Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature." Victoria said. She made eye contact with Romanoff, even from behind her sunglasses.

"Anybody ever tell you you're a little paranoid?" Sam Wilson, Steve and Victoria's best friend, said through the comm. She looked down, trying to hide her smile.

"Not to my face. Why, did you hear something?" But it was true; when is she not paranoid? HYDRA or anyone looking to arrest her or avenge a death caused by Ultraviolet (those that recognized her anyway,) could kill her at any moment.

"Eyes on target, folks. It's the best lead we have on Rumlow in 6 months. I don't want to lose him." Steve averted their attention, bringing them back to the task at hand. Sam laughed, a simple 'ha'.
