Romeo

"Hi, Romeo--"

"How're you feeling, Cupid?"

"Good. Well, not really. I've been watching The Notebook and eating vanilla ice cream."

"Oh, how I wish I could join you."

"Yeah, sure. But I'll never tell you who I am."

"Don't worry, I'll find out. Oh, by the way, I found you a date."

"No. You did? Really?"

"Yeah. I mean, I felt bad that Ethan did that to you, so I wanted to show you that love can happen again."

"God, you sound like a poet."

"I try my best."

"What's his name?"

"Aidan. I think he is in your math class?"

"How do you know what math class I'm in?"

"Oh, I remember one of the first times you called me, it was during your time in Mrs. Collin's class. You said she was pissed at you, and you almost got detention. Remember that?"

"Yeah, that was funny. I know who Aidan is, actually."

"Really?"

"Yeah. He's nice. So what are we doing on the date?"

"He told me he would take you out for coffee."

"OK. Thanks, Romeo. You don't know how much this means to me. How will I thank you?"

"Don't worry about it, Cupid. Friends help each other."

"Yeah. They do."

Both Romeo and Cupid smiled, and they wished for once to see each other.

But, of course, that can't ever happen.

After all, love is meant to be a mystery.
