i measure my life

not in the kind you'd assume

how long i have lived

metres and kilometres

of how long i have walked

or in the amount of litres

of my favorite juice.

no,

i measure my life

in the amount of

goodbyes

and hellos,

or how many

"Sorry's"

can fit in

a day,

I measure my life

with the amount of times

I have cried

or laughed-

So far about a thousand and eighty one

in the former.

I measure my life

with the amount of

people who have simply left

or

people who have stayed

because to truly embrace life for what it is

is to not count the amount of years you have lived

but to

count the moments

in the years.

the moments that count-

are the ones

most worth remembering.
