Surprise!! I am going to the Tampa MetcroCon on July 22nd!!
For those of you who don't
eed to know, MetroCon is a Convention (hence the Con at the end of the name) that is in Tampa from July 21st - 24th 2016. It comes every year around Summertime so the dates can differ. This year, the theme is Order vs. Chaos and to get in it is about $35 per person.
QUESTIONS ANSWERED FOR NEWBIES!!!
Are there rules about what I wear? Like a dress code?
Yes and no. Even though the convention has a theme, you can wear whatever cosplay you choose, or not wear a costume at all (cosplays are more fun tho). However, please consider that children may be attending...so booty showing may not be the best. But hey, I won't stop you. Also, make sure any and all prop weapons (guns, swords, etc.) are not too sharp + marked with bright orange paint or tape at the ends.
What can I do there?
Conventions are almost always more than just walking around. MetroCon has panels, game rooms, and booths that sell handmade art, official merch, and other stuff. Plus, you can always hang out with other cosplayers, since most of them are very nice.
