"Here you go Leah." I smile as I hand the little girl the container of markers.
"Thanks Riley!" She beams at me brightly before running off to a table with coloring pages laid out on it and several other kids her age.
I turn to Riley who has just entered the room. "You're finally here!" I drop the remaining container of markers on the table next to me and rush to greet her.
As I pull back from our embrace, I notice Riley's hair. I can't help but grin. "You finally did it!"
Riley nods and looks around subconsciously and toys with her newly bleached hair. "What do you think?"
I blurt out, "I love it! And seriously though. You could look good in any hair.""Even none at all?" Riley jokes.
I hastily nod and then realize where we are. "So they're coloring now—" I motion to the thirteen kids at the two tables. "—but we should get a snack together for when they're done."
Riley nods and we head to the kitchen where we still have a view of the kids.
As we pass into the next room, I can't help but notice the big "Boys and Girls Club" banner hanging in the doorway.
