"Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it"

When Sebastian got back to the manor he rushed upstairs, ignoring all questions and worried looks coming from the worried the maid, gardener and chef when they had opened the door to greet the two.

"I hope the young master is okay, yes I do!"
"What do you think happened to him, he looks like a beaten puppy!"
"I dunno, spose it was that 'orrible little brat and his butler. Whenever the young masters in trouble or hurt it's always got something to do with them, 'aven't you noticed?"
The two nodded at the chef in agreement before heading back to their duties, their worries still playing up in their minds.

Sebastian stripped ciel of his clothing then laid him on soft silky sheets. Kissing his forehead he let a dear roll down his cheek.
"I'm so sorry Ciel, this is all my fault. If I would of just been more cautious this wouldn't have happened. You wouldn't have bruises, you wouldn't be hurt, you would have still had our, o-our-" Sebastian was cut short as he broke into a sob. If only he could of stopped this, why did he have to let his guard down, why? Why did fate hate him so much?
As these questions raced through his mind he looked down at Ciel. He looked so vulnerable and hurt. If he was awake his eyes would of been pleading for comfort and protectiveness.
'That's it. This is the last time I will allow this to happen. Ciel is mine. I will protect what is mine, and that's a promise.'

Sebastian then walked to the dresser to retrieve one of his night shirts to put on Ciel. Ciel refused to wear anything but that, he would try to justify his reasons by simply stating that because it was larger than his it was more comfortable, but Sebastian knew better. He knew that Ciel had no problem with the size of clothing he wore; he found them all quite comfortable to be honest. It was because Ciel only felt safe with Sebastian so when Sebastian wasn't there he was in need of something that smelt like him, so he chose his shirt. It was drenched in his scent, luring Ciel into a sense of safety each and every night. It's never changed, Ciel has always slept in his lovers shirts.

After almost each button had been done up Ciel was tucked into bed. He never liked all of the buttons done up because it felt more relaxing to have the shirt lazily done up as he slept securely.
Once Ciel was tucked in Sebastian removed all of his clothing but his boxer shorts he carefully slid into the sheets and pulled Ciel onto his chest. He stroked his soft silky hair and murmured gentle lyrics into his ear. It was Ciels favourite song, he always sang it to Sebastian to remind him that he is Ciel's home and is the only one and thing that ever will be.

"I'm coming home, I'm coming home, tell the world that I'm coming home.

Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday.

And though my kingdom awaits, and they've forgiven my mistakes, I'm coming home, I'm coming home, tell the world that I'm coming home"

Sebastian held Ciel as tight as possible before kissing his head softly and closing his eyes, able to rest knowing his mate was safely asleep in his arms away from any harm. Only surrounded by love. His love.

"You are my home too, Ciel, you always have been and always will be"
