What? How?!" Abert walks towards me opening the refrigerator again.

"What the fuck?" Albert looks at me with a confused expression.

"I know you said your mum didn't sell the house, but maybe she borrowed it to some friend during the time you would stay in London.."

"No, I mean, at least she haven't spoke anything related to the house since we moved.. And why isn't that person here?"

"I don't know.. maybe he or she is on a holiday or something.."

"Or maybe knows we're here.." Albert says.

"Well, whoever that person is, it didn't try to enter in my room at least.. the door was locked and the house is full of dust so it hasn't cleaned anything.." Albert says running his fingers through his curls in a messy way making my stomach flutter.

"Maybe it is a homeless.." I suggest.

"But he has to have the key of the house.. it was locked when he got here."

"And now what we're supposed to do?"

"I don't know. I don't want any fucking stranger in here!"Albert rubs his neck in a nervous way.

"We have to go to London, Albert. Next week we'll discover this out," I say approaching to him.

"No, I'm not going until I found out who this bastard is.." Albert says with his jaw getting tense.

"Albert, that person isn't even here. Please, don't be mad over this. Maybe you can ask to your mum some details about the house when you left.." I caress his jaw and he leans his head down to kiss my arm.

"Yeah, you're right.. But when I find out who's the person living in my house...Probably is some drug addict who needs a place to inject himself.." Albert jokes with a playful tone and I gently scold him on his arm.

"Teasing. I would beat the shit out of him though. I'll call another fucking cab to take us to the train station." Albert removes his phone from his back pocket.

The way to London is mostly quiet.

"Albert, are you okay?" I lay my hand on his. He has been staring at the window for thirty minutes.

"Yes, just thinking.." He looks at me giving me a small smile.

"Don't worry about it, whoever that person is, it didn't tried to steal anything.."

"I know, I just.. I know it might sound stupid, but there's always a fund of hope inside of me that my father would come back, you know? The last time I saw him, he was tossed on that damn road. And what if he never actually died?"Albert looks at me with wide eyes.

"Well, you can't be sure if your mother did a funeral, but it's so weird, Albert. Everyone else who knew your family had to keep it as a secret then.." I point out.

"Unless we moved away from them.."

"Oh My Gosh.. Do you think that is it possible for your dad to be alive?"

"I don't know, but if I find out that my mum lied to me, I will hate her so fucking much."

"Well, don't think about it now. First try to find out if your mum borrowed the house to some friend or distant relative.." I caress his hand in a comforting gesture.

"Yes, but it's so fucked up. The house it was so full of dust and all the stuff were on the same place since we left five years ago. How can be someone living in there?" Albert rest his hand on my knee and I approach to him.

"Albert, just forget it now. We'll figured this out." I give him a reassuring smile and he nods wiry relief in his features.

"We're going to your house first, babe."

"Why?" I look up at him and notice how the sun breaks through the glass window and focus its shades of different yellow on his eyes. He's so beautiful that it's hard to believe he's mine sometimes.

"Because I don't want you to be alone in a cab with a fucking stranger." Albert's tone comes more serious than I expected and I shake my head at him.

"And will you?"

"Emily, I'm a guy." He says with humour lightening up his eyes.

"So?"

"So, we're not discussing this." Albert kisses me on my cheek.

"Sophia sent me a text saying your mum was really worried so I texted her we were together and we were okay." I say looking at my phone.

"Hm-hm." Albert acts nonchalant and looks at the window.

"Stop being so stubborn with your mum." I scold him on his arm.

"Ouch, I'm not being stubborn." He laughs caressing his arm.

"See?"

"I'm not apologising to her. Not fucking happening."

"Just talk to her, okay? A talk between a mother and son?"

"I always talk to her like 'mother and son'.."

"Oh yeah, of course you do.." I make a sarcastic tone.

"Well, If my mum wasn't always pushing my buttons I wouldn't have to fight with her and say things to hurt her on purpose.." Albert defends.

I raise an eyebrow at him and he chuckles.

"Fine! I'll try not be too unpleasant with her!" He promises and I give him a proud smile.

"I'll call you when I get home." Albert says and I nod opening the door of the cab.

"Wait!" Albert pulls me to him and presses his lips against mine making a huge smile spread across my face.

I leave the cab and fumble to find my keys.
As I enter inside my parents are both seated on the living room staring at me.

Oh no. I'm in trouble.
