Pap is a fire fae, meaning much of his body is engulfed in magical fire. He can control the temperature of the fire, meaning he doesn't melt any of the snow in Snowdin. He generally avoids Waterfall, not because the water can hurt him, but because it's simply the concept. The fire also changes colors with his emotions. Aside from that, his personality or goals of capturing a human and becoming part of the royal guard haven't changed. Neither has his relationship with Undyne, despite her being a more water based Creature. (Patience, she will come soon). They are still very good friends who enjoy cooking together, it's just that she tends to visit Snowdin more than he visits Waterfall. As for Hotland, Papyrus does love to go, and usually goes with Sans for his job selling hot dogs, and finds other excuses to go sometimes.
