Mitch was coming to see me today. Obviously, I was nervous. Would my act of friendship rather than love hold up? My phone went off, and I recognised it as Mitch's ringtone.

From:Mitch

Hey, dood, plane's landing soon. You coming to get me?

To:Mitch

'Course dude. See you in an hour?

I saw Mitch standing in the airport.

"MITCH!", I couldn't help but shout.

"JEROME!", Mitch shouted back, running towards me. I couldn't help but stare at him as he ran. You could easily see the happiness in his beauti- NO! Stop, Jerome!

I threw his stuff in my trunk, and started driving home. The car was silent, and Mitch seemed to be pondering something.

Mitch's POV

As soon as I ran towards Jerome, I couldn't help but notice the way his eyes lit up when he saw me, and the way an easy grin instantly appeared on his face. Still, I had to focus on what was bothering Jerome! This wasn't about me, there was something that was obviously bothering him, and Merome was related. Exactly how, I wasn't sure.

"Hey Jerome?", I spoke.

"Yeah Mitch?", he replied.

"I wanted to talk to you about the other day. Something was bothering you, and it was related to Merome.", I said hesitantly.

"Erm, I r-really d-don't want to t-talk about it, M-Mitch.", he stuttered nervously.

"It's important.", I replied.

"You'll get mad.", he argued.

"I doubt it, biggums. When do I ever EVER get mad at you?", I asked seriously. Jerome took a deep breath.

"I really don't want to talk about it Mitch! Leave it alone!", he snapped. I felt hurt, and upon seeing the look on my face, a guilty expression momentarily flashed on Jerome's face. At least I knew Jerome was capable of emotion, nowadays. He hadn't gotten angry in over a year. Something was wrong with Jerome, and I will figure what is.
