"Jane, your date's here!" Jane's mom called for her from the front door of their house.
"Coming!" Jane shouted just enough for her mom to hear as she made her way downstairs. "And, he is not my date."
"Yes I am." Scott said before her mom could reply.
"He is not! This is not a date." Jane replied.
"Well, whatever it is, I trust you to be here before curfew." Alessia, Jane's mom said as she smiled at the two. "Be safe, and I love you Jane."
"Love you too mom." Jane's cheeks reddened a bit as she smiled.
"Bye Mrs. Matthews!" Scott bid Jane's mother goodbye as he followed Jane who was walking to his car. As usual, Scott opens the door for her.
