one month later

daniel's pov-

i kissed her five month old bump as she raised her eyebrows at me i kissed it again before climbing to my feet pulling her with me i linked my hand in hers as we walked down stairs taking our time we didn't need to rush where we were going we had all day it was only a few minutes away from the pck house

a beautiful water fall where i had set up a picnic

a good first date as any

having realized yesterday i got her pregnant without dating her first

we walked outside

"where are you taking me?" she questioned and i chuckled she asked that almost a billion times already

"i have not, where are we going?"

"arn't you a bundle of questions today" i said pulling her to my side i kissed her temple gently

just as a loud growl echoed across the training grounds nova whimpered gripping my shirt tightly i pulled her closer looking for danger the growl sounded familiar then alpha florence broke the tree line in his human form he was about forty feet away before he stopped he growled his eyes glaring daggers at the arm i had around nova he moved forwards

and even from the vast distance he looked sickly, it  happened when you loose your pack and mate i'm surprised that he's not dead

"what are you doing on my territory?" i snarled

he didn't answer a sure sign that he was weak and sick what happened to my damn guards

"we're sorry alpha," their apoligies flooded through the pack link "but he  commanded us we couldn't do anything"

i sighed cutting the link a i stared down the now ex-alpha whose commands still held some authority anger was in his eyes he wanted a challenge my eyes flicked to the pack house as my beta raced out side

my beta, my right hand

"kyle hold her" i commanded and nova moved to him and he said nothing as he held her to his side

i snarled at her father as i shifted and he growled his bones cracking making my eyes widen in surprise as he shifted into a fragile looking silver wolf whose unkempt fur shone in the sun in a way that was almost like nova's

almost

there was no way i was comparing him to my beautiful mate

i moved closer and he bore his teeth in a challenge i lunged at him allowing my wolf full control as we jumped at his weak wolf driving him too the ground i kolbie snarled down at him nathing his teeth a sign of fear flashed behind his eyes as i brought my teeth towards him just as my body burned and white hot pain shot though me

like i had been sliced with silver

we haven't been him my wolf soothed

nova cried in sheer pain a noise that sent my sensitive ears ringing as shivers to fly down my spine as i remained frozen she cried out again

and i remained frozen as i hovered above alpha Florence he looked surprised as well as shock at what ever was going on behind me anger laced his features i smelt blood

i slowly turned my head only to see nova hunched over in pain and the claws of my right hand dug deep into her pregnant belly the blood smelt stronger

but it wasn't her's

not most of it anyways

it belonged to our baby

and our baby was dead
