Chapter 14

What happens next is a blur. David comes running with his father. His father becomes shocked at what he sees for Oak has his wings out. Then his father tears me away from Oak. He sticks Oak with something sharp. I yell at him and say that he is hurting him. Oak then relaxes. He does not move. David’s father shakes his head. He then starts pounding on his chest I try to stop him but David pulls me away I fight to get away from him but it is no use. I just scream Oak’s name. Tears begin to come out of my eyes. I finally give up and fall to the ground. David hugs me and rubs my head. Then David’s father comes over. I look up at him and ask,

“Is Oak okay?”

“No, he’s he’s dead.”

“What?”

“I’m sorry there was nothing I could do.”

“He can’t be dead.”

“I’m sorry.”

I stand and rush towards Oak’s side. He is pale. I touch his hand and it is icy cold.

“Oak please be alright please.”

Tears again come from my eyes. I wail and scream. What else could I do.

“Oh please Oak don’t be dead.”

I cry some more. Then David’s father comes by me.

“You are fairy.”

“Yes, what difference does it make? Just leave me alone.”

“You are Bell’s daughter aren’t you.”

“Yes I am now just leave me alone you have done enough.”

“Honeysuckle I know this is hard for you to understand but you have to bring your mother here”

“What why and how do you know my name?”

“Just do it.”

“No!”

“Do it Honeysuckle!”

I stand up enraged.

“Look I am not leaving my husband’s side.”

“Well if you want your husband to live again I would suggest bringing your mother here pronto.”

“What good can she do, fairies can’t bring people back from the dead.”

“How do you know you haven’t even begun your training?”

“How do you know so much about fairies?”

“Because I fell in love and married one.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean that I married your mother and I still am.”

“That’s impossible fairies can’t marry humans.”

“Well I did.”

“So you expect me to go ask my mom your so called wife and bring her here so she can bring Oak back from the dead.”

“Yes.”

“Well I am not going anywhere.”

“Look you do as I say or I will go to your village myself.”

“You don’t know where it is.”

“Yes I do. It is by the two giant Oak trees right over there.”

He was right.

“Fine.”

“Darling I don’t see why you have to drag me out here.”

“Just follow me.”

I lead my mother over to where the David’s are. I look at my mother’s face as she sees David. She looks overjoyed tears even start to form.

“Oh David.”

“Oh Bell.”

They rush up to each other and embrace.

“Bell I know we haven’t seen each other in ages but right now I need you to save Oak.”

“What?”

She looks over at Oak and screams she rushes to his side and asks,

“What happened?”

“He had a severe allergic reaction.”

“I see and you want me to revive him.”

“Yes!” I scream.

“Alright I’ll see what I can do.”

She folds her hands and says an ancient spell that I do not recognize in a language I do not know. Then I hear Oak cough.

“Rest Oak and sleep.”

He nods his head. I rush to his side but my mom drags me away before I can hug him.

“You have a lot of explaining to do missy.”
