You see the flash
Of whole and white
All in a row
Lined up tight
You gently touch
A burst of light
Music erupts
Filling the nightYou move a half
A sour thing
With lots of clash
To resound and ring
You, resolve
But I still sing
The counter-part
Like an out of tune violin stringYou play in chords
I sing in a different key
Tried to match your pitch
But, can't you see
The light and dark
Wishing to be free
The black and white
Minor chords beckoning meYou sustain the sound
And prolong the dissonance
Mood moving music
A false romance
This figment of my mind
Never having a chance
And then you play
Leaving me in a tranceYou finish the piece
And I remain
Alone and upset
With a queer distain
For you and your music
When I hear the refrain
I fall into sorrow
With ear-piercing pain
