Imagine: You're a thief in Jerusalem and end up stumbling across the assassin's bureau and stole from it daily, unfortunately one day it doesn't go so well.

Oh, how the rich people who lived in Jerusalem were not the smartest people in the world, many pickpockets had their large eyes targeted on them to swoop in and steal the small amounts of gold they kept in their pouches. Although it was a small amount the profit was big and most of the thief's in the areas went home with a meal on their plates for the night, others weren't that skilled and were easily caught before being put in a cell to rot. There were many of the criminals that were known by a few, but there was one that was known by every rich civilian and wanted for a large amount of coin thanks to her skillful work and not keeping all of her reward for herself.

(Y/N) (L/N), the most famous thief and specialised in pickpocket but the stealing wasn't the only reason why the girl is famous. The majority of homeless people in Jerusalem were adults, but there was also children that had to sleep in dirty alleyways and starve at night, thanks to (Y/N)'s life of crime she gives half of her reward to any of the young kids she can find so they could at least buy a loaf of bread for themselves and hopefully survive the night and not be left to die of starvation.

Another successful theft for (Y/N) occurred as she walked out of the crime scene unseen and left with a big profit. Rich people were corrupted by their wealth and it seemed to take over their brains so they became dumber by the minute, but she couldn't complain as it was a big advantage for her. It turned dark very quickly from all of the fun (Y/N) had during the day she made her quick rounds of going to any child she could find and giving them some of her coin she managed to obtain before retiring to the rooftops. A house is the only thing the girl couldn't buy no matter how much she stole it wasn't enough, but she was able to buy a few supplies to create a small comfortable shelter on top of a house, it may not be a palace, but it was home to (Y/N).

It was quiet in Jerusalem that night with the cool breeze blowing (Y/N)'s hair in the wind as she hopped from rooftop to rooftop trying to find her way back home. She got carried away with her daily hobby from getting caught up in an area that was full with rich people so she got a bigger reward and leaving swiftly, unfortunately she didn't know her way back to her humble little home from that area it was going to take her a lot longer to get back. (Y/N)'s surroundings soon became a little more familiar, but not crystal clear, she wasn't paying attention at where she was walking and almost fell through a hole in one of the rooftops. Her curiosity took over her after her sudden discovery it was basically an invite for her to come in and take everything she can put her greedy hands on. (Y/N) didn't hesitate and quickly climbed down into the building and taking in her surroundings, the moonlight didn't light up much, but coincidentally a candle sat alone on top of a table nearby for her to light. After creating a slightly better light source, the thief moved round lighting up the dark areas and searching for anything valuable.

The building with the hole on top of the roof was in (Y/N)'s view a mischievous grin plastered on her. The first night she came in contact with her new favourite target was a complete success, loose change was left around the place and many valuable objects was left scattered around the place. She ended up paying a visit again two more times after and taking more and more every time and now she was back a fourth time, she thought it was abandoned as no one was around at the time of her crime to interrupt her which was why it became her favourite. (Y/N) crept down into the building and landed perfectly on the ground, the candle that she used was left in the same place on top of the table nearby, she did the usual thing of lighting the candle and moving to the first area.

A wave of paranoia went over her as she stepped through the doorway of the first area as if someone was watching her every move, someone couldn't be here could they? Her question was soon answered when the feeling of cold metal came in contact with her throat.
"So I was right, a little thief as managed to sneak into a place where they shouldn't be."
A low voice with an annoyed tone spoke as they held up (Y/N) against the wall with the weapon that had her life hanging on a thread. The light of the candle was still lit and it showed off the persons features, (Y/N) quickly analysed the man in front of her. At this moment she didn't know what to do, she had never been caught before just chased down.
"Thief? Oh no I was just passing through." (Y/N) acted innocent and stared directly into his eyes, she was all up for risks, although she had a blade to her throat she added in a little joke. The man scoffed and the blade pressed slightly into her throat, little beads of blood appeared, but wasn't enough for her to start bleeding out.
"You're good at being a thief, but not lying." He spoke and looked at the little specs of blood that dripped onto the blade."Theft is punishable by death and I know that you're one of the well known ones. I wonder how much they would reward me for bringing you dead, I'll probably be able to earn back the amount you stole from me."
(Y/N) could feel the blade press slightly harder against her throat, fear started to get the best of her. She was too young to die. She didn't deserve this. She was only trying to survive.
"Ok, Ok, I know I'm a thief. I only did what I had to do to survive, please don't kill me!"

Her eyes were shut tight and she waited for the blade to just slice her throat and watch as the world around her grew darker by the second and a pool of blood poured around her, however it never came and all (Y/N) heard was a low chuckle and the blade was removed from her throat. She opened her eyes very slowly to and watched as the man lit more candles to lighten up the room and move behind the desk.
"You thief's think your fearful, but when you're life is on the line you break easily." He spoke and looked at (Y/N) as she wouldn't dare move from where she was standing.
"So, you're not going to kill me then?" She asked and he shook his head and motioned for her to walk over to him, she hesitated at first but (Y/N) walked over cautiously.

"Let me introduce myself, my name is Malik."
"(Y/N)."
Malik nodded again.
"You have remarkable skills for a thief, no one who isn't one of us has entered the bureau and left unseen and with valuable items. I didn't even know someone had stolen anything the first night." He explained to her.
"What do you mean by 'one of us'?" She asked, curiosity showing again.
"This is one of other assassin's bureaus around here." Malik started to explain once again."There is a war between us, the assassin's, and the enemies, the Templars. Only the two know about the war and we aim to keep any civilians or anyone else from knowing."
"Where are you going with this and why are you telling me all of it?" (Y/N) starting to get bored of all of his explaining earning her an annoyed eye roll from the assassin in front of her.
"Your skills are worthy enough to becoming one of us, an assassin." Malik told her."The reason I am telling you this is because I'm making you an offer of training you to become one."

(Y/N)'s attention was grabbed again by the whole assassin thing, she become an assassin and not a criminal? Well, she would possibly still be one, but probably better, this would also mean she wouldn't almost starve every night.
"Become an assassin huh?" She said to herself, soon getting lost in her thoughts how different she would look as an assassin. (Y/N) then turned back towards Malik who, was still waiting for her answer.
"I think I'll take you up on your offer Malik." She accepted.
"Good, we will train you to become a very well trained assassin you'll probably look better as one then a thief." Malik said.
"So we'll be working together, sounds like a plan!" (Y/N) offered him her hand to shake, but she had offered the one that he couldn't shake and she soon realised that he only had one arm. (Y/N) laughed awkwardly before quickly moving her hand."Sorry."
"Just get out, and don't tell anyone what I told you."

A/N
