Assassin!Shay imagine - The clumsy assassin

Imagine: You're training to become an assassin but you are very clumsy and it doesn't help when another assassin is teasing you all the time.

(Y/N)'s pov

For the tenth time today I have fallen over my own two feet trying to sword fight, I groaned and say up. Underneath their hoods I can see the other assassins sniggering with each other at my pathetic attempt at trying to defend myself. Stood in front of me was Liam, he sighed and offered his hand to me to help me up.

"You'll get it sometime (Y/N)." Liam reassured me as he pulled me back on to my feet.

"That's if she stops tripping over he own feet, it's like she's got two left feet."

I let my head drop so I was staring at the ground and sighed in frustration. Surprise, surprise, he's right on cue to mock me.

"Shay knock it off." Liam told the assassin.

Behind me stood the cocky assassin Shay, for some reason he feels the need to tease me every time I screw something u and he always shows up at just the right time. It's like he's stalking me. When I fell from the tree, Shay was there. When I almost shot another assassin, Shay was there. Oh and even when I fell off the horse after trying to sit on it, Shay was right on cue to laugh and make a snarky remark whilst I just stand there and take it all in. What made it even more difficult was that I had also grown feelings towards Shay, despite him teasing me all the time he was actually pretty funny and fun to be around also when it as first introduced to Shay his accent and looks made me swoon.

"The lass knows I'm only joking," Shay smirked and wrapped an arm round my shoulders.

"Don't you have something better to do?" Liam asked his friend after noticing my irritated facial expression and trying to get the assassin away from me.

"I've got a mission to get on to but I'll run back as quick as I can if anything else happens." Shay said, referring to my embarrassing moments. He then walked off to find Achilles about his mission.

I sighed and picked up my sword, I stared at the weapon and put it back into the holster.

"That's it, I give up!" I yelled out in annoyance.

"Its just practice that's all (Y/N)." Liam told me.

"I know but it's not very encouraging when I have everyone laughing at me and Shay being here every time I make a fool of myself, face it Liam I'll never be an assassin."

"Just go and take the rest of the day off, we'll work harder tomorrow." Liam excused me and went over to some other assassins to continue on with the sword fitting lesson".

After being given the rest of the day off, I wondered about the forest around homestead. I always found it peaceful and helped me calm down after making a fool of myself, I would sometimes just sit and watch the wild animals run around or attempt to climb the trees but often fall and luckily land into a large pile of leaves. Once again I decided to try and climb, I successfully climb onto the first branch, that it is only a few inches off the ground, and get my balance. Now the more challenging part. I jump up and grab onto the next branch, and pull myself up. Ok, I'm doing good so far. I carry on and finally mange to reach the top of the tree which, I balanced on the last branch and look at the view. The first time I had succeeded at something and it felt good, the view made it better.

"You finally made it lass."

I let out a small squeal and I almost fall off the branch, I thought that I was going to fall until someone grabbed onto my arm and pulled me back on. I sighed in relief and my heart stopped beating so quickly, I looked to see who had saved me and realized it was Shay.

"Shay?" I thought I was seeing him at first."Thanks I thought I was gonna fall then."

"You've always been clumsy (Y/N)." Shay smirked at me.

My mood dropped again, I felt myself get more irritated and I couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Aren't you suppose to be on a missions rather than taunting me again?" I crossed my arms and glared at Shay.

"Oh Achilles told me that some other assassin took the mission, I always see you sneak off into the forest so I followed you."

"And wait for me to do something embarrassing like you always do and make me feel worse then I already do."

We both fell silent and I still had my arms crossed and I wouldn't look  Shay directly in the eyes.

"Shit (Y/N)." Shay sighed."Look I'm sorry for everything I said."

I rolled my eyes thinking that he was only saying that to make me feel better, I still didn't look at him.

"If you must know the only reason why I do it is because I don't know how else to approach you (Y/N)." Shay started to explain, I looked at him this time though a bit curious about what he means by the last thing he said.

"I have feelings for you, ok (Y/N). You know how to make everyone laugh and you can brighten up anyone's day. You don't know this but all of the other assassins always talk about you, not by how clumsy you are but how some of them really like you and how pretty you look and it makes me jealous. You wanna no why one of them had a black eye the other day? That was me."

I was shocked to hear all of this come pouring out of Shay. I never expected him to feel the same way I thought that if I ever were to confess my feelings towards the assassin he would just laugh and continue to tease me. Now that I know the truth I didn't feel anxious anymore.

"So now you know, if you want to let me down just do it as harshly as you can." Shay told me.

I gave Shay a small smile then placed my hand on his cheek and reached up and planted a kiss on his lips. I could tell my Shays hesitation that he wasn't expecting it but suddenly I felt his arms being wrapped around me and he deepened the kiss. After we pulled apart for air, I looked up at Shay and gave him a small smile.

"Oops that was clumsy if me."

Shay just rolled his eyes and smirked before pulling me back into an embrace.
