Modern!Edward oc imagine - Family.

Megan's pov

It was a bright sunny day outside, the Suns Ray's shone on my face and almost blinded my eyes as I awoke from my slumber. I didn't hesitate to sit up in bed and rub my eyes, then pull the covers off me so I could get ready for the rest of the day. My clock on my bed side read 9:00 am, gives me a good hour before I go and pay another visit to Edward and his family.

Since we were kids, me and Edward have been best friends. We have been through a lot together and we always had each others side whenever we went through difficult times. Sometimes I kind of consider Edward to be more of a brother to me than my actual older brother, Luke. Right now though I have been stuck to Edward like glue for the past few months, he and his parents had been struck with the bad news that his father had been diagnosed with a terrible illness and they have been struggling with the news ever since. Because our families are pretty close my parents offered to help pay for any medical bills or medicine to help out Edwards father, I wanted to make sure they got all the support they can.

As I was about to start brushing my hair after putting on some suitable clothing for today, my phone started ringing. I immediately picked it up and after seeing who was calling I answered the call and put my on one to my ear.

"Hey Edward. I won't be long I'll be round in about ten minutes, OK?" I told him

"Thanks Megan." I heard Edward speak down the phone, however his tone sounded different than usual.

"Edward? Are you alright?"

There was complete silence between the two of us, I started to worry about him but he finally spoke up.

"He hasn't got long left, Megan." Edward whispered down the phone." The hospital called us earlier and told us."

I was shocked by the news, I couldn't believe what I was hearing at first.

"Oh my god Edward, is...is there anything we can do? There has to be" I asked him.

"Megan you are your family have done everything, I don't think you can do anything else."

"Ok, well I'll come over right now and we'll talk more, ok?"

Edward agreed and I said my goodbye and let him hang up. I put my phone down and quickly put a brush through my hair so I didn't look like I had just woken up (even though that was the truth). After making myself look somewhat presentable I didn't wait any longer to rush out of the house and visit Edwards family again.

Edwards pov

After I hung up on Megan I sighed and fell back on to my bed. Nothing was getting better for us. Ever since my father had been diagnosed he's been in and out of hospital and have been stuck in a bed there now for a few months we haven't had any good news. My mother hasn't been sleeping because she has been worried, I haven't slept much either but at least we had support from Megan and her family. We have been great full as her family have been paying for pretty much everything, my mother insisted to try and pay them back but Megan had always told us not to worry about how expensive any medicine was.

I was then knocked out of my thoughts when a small knock came from my door, I turned my head to see my mother walk into the room. She gave me a small smile and I sat up on my bed as she came over and sat beside me.

"Is Megan coming to visit today?" She asked me.

"Yeah, I just called her she won't be long." I told her.

There was a small silence between us until she let out a small sigh and looked at me.

"Edward, Megan is an amazing girl and I'm not just saying that because of what her family has done for us this time." She started to explain to me." And you to have been friends for a very long time, I think you should tell her how you feel."

"I can't do that." I said to her."What if she doesn't feel the same? I could ruin our friendship."

"Even if she doesn't Edward, I'm sure it wouldn't ruin your friendship. You have both been friends since you were kids."

She gave me another one of her caring smiles before walking out of the room. I just sat alone with my thoughts again, worrying about what will happen in the future. Moments later though I heard my mother call up to let me know that Megan had arrived. I sighed to myself and thought about whether I should tell her about my feelings or not. I didn't know what to do but I didn't have much time to think about it as Megan appeared at my door. I smiled at her back when she gave me one, her smile can always brighten me up.

"Hey, how are you doing?" She asked me.

"I'm ok, I've been better." I told her.

Megan then walked over to my side and gave me a hug, she pulled away and sat by me.

"I'm really sorry Edward."

I still thought to myself whether I should confess to her or not, if I did I could be getting more bad news which wouldn't be surprising. I took a deep breath and decided to just go for it.

"Megan, I need to tell you something."

"You can tell me anything, you know that right?" Megan told me.

"I have feelings for you."

I burned it out to her, I could tell she wasn't expecting me to say that. She just stared at me with her beautiful eyes.

"We've been friends forever and I never wanted to say anything because I thought I would ruin our friendship.." I explained to her." You make me smile when I'm down, you can make anything fun and you are the most beautiful person I've seen."

Megan just continued to stare at me, I knew that I would just expect bad news. I had it coming. I stood up and sighed again and lost hope until I felt arms wrap around my waist. She had hugged me from behind and I spun around to look down at her.

"I'm so happy you feel the same Edward." She said."I always wanted to tell you but I thought you had enough on your hands with your father."

I smiled and hugged her back, she looked up at me and then stood on her tiptoes so her lips touched mine. I didn't hesitate to kiss back and pull her in a tighter embrace. I gave a small pout after she pulled away, Megan just gave me a small smirk.

"I love you Edward Kenway."

"I love you too."

I hope everyone who has had their requests done so far has enjoyed them, I have a more to do but I usually do it at my own pace which is usually two imagines a day but sometimes three if I'm in a good mood. Anyway I hope I can get them all done soon for you all. :)
