i opened my eyes to the darkly lit room. i rolled over to find no one next to me, instead i found a note on the bed side table. i turned on the lamp and sat up on the bed pulling the sheet up with me.

i reached over and picked up the note.

sorry i had to leave. ill call you later for sure -Nate

i crumbled the paper up into a ball and threw it across the room. i looked at my phone and saw that it was only 7am, i sighed and pushed myself up off the bed before walking into the bathroom.

"might as well get ready for work" i dropped the sheet and stepped into the shower.

Mia

"are you sure you wanna go through with this? she wont even be with nate for much longer" i was nervous and didnt want to be seen with Jason. not after what she told me, but the thought of having nate to myself was all i needed to not give this a second thought. of course i knew that nate would be up for grabs very soon, we're just doing this to make sure they dont end up together.

"youre not re-thinking this right now, right? because if you cant help me get back with Mia then i can always find another girl who wants what you want. trust me" i roll my eyes at his cockiness and faced him. "listen, im just doing this because theres only one thing i want. just dont hurt her like you did the last time" he let out a loud and deep laugh, "if you actually cared about her feelings you wouldnt be doing this, this is not what a true friend would do. believe me"

i didnt want to admit he was right so i just walked out the room and slammed the door behind me.

i walked into the room next to his and pulled a lighter out of my pocket along with my lighter.

Mya

"hey" i said smiling at mia as i walked into the shop. she didnt respond and only looked up with a small smile.

i wanted to ask her about her and Jason but i didnt know how to. she knows hes my ex and knows about everything i went through with him.

"can i talk to you about something" she stopped what she was doing and a nervous/frightened look crossed her face.

she nodded slowly as i walked over to her. "so you remeber my ex jason, right? the one i never wanted to see again?"

"listen Mya, i know you saw us the other night and i just want to say im sorry. he just came up to me and nothing is happening. i promise"

"alright i get it. i trust you"
