Chapter 13 Marie Comforts/ Small Party

//Ayumu POV//

---Five Days Later---

"How's he doing?" Ayumu could hear Nina and Beatrice talking from the other side of the door of his room. All the girls were worried for him of what has happen five days ago with Abel.

It's been five days after he killed Abel. It was like poetry...the darkness had consumed him for a while but Beatrice would show up and comfort him-wait...scratch that...all of the girls were watching and comforting him. And right now, while Nina and Beatrice were talking, Marie was in the room with him.

"Scarlet?" Ayumu looks to his side to see Marie has sat down beside him with a thoughtful look.

"Yes?" Ayumu asked.

"Do you still...feel...angry?" Marie asked with a shy voice.

"I'm not angry." Ayumu insisted.

"Yes you are...s-sorry for saying it like that...but you have been frustrated more than sad. Are you ok?" Marie asked.

"I'm still surprise you all haven't voted me off the guild, I would understand." Ayumu told her.

"We wouldn't do that!" Marie cried out. "You're our friend!"

"But I-"

"You made a choice to take out a dangerous man that threatened lives and our friend. You would have let him live but that would be risking lives to contain him in the jail." Marie explained, for once sounding not shy.

"..." Ayumu could only look at her surprised.

"You were concern for others, Scarlet. You knew there must have been a choice made. But you can't let that change you...don't fall into whatever you are now feeling. I'll say this to you since it's been used in many ways...but live for Abel. He was mad crazy and died in your hands. So live a happy life you see you must live, does it make sense, Scarlet?" Marie asked.

"Yes...but..." Ayumu began but stopped when

"Then that's why...that's why...please be normal again." Marie said as she held his arm...resting her head on his shoulder and Ayumu simply eyes her.

"...Marie..." Ayumu stared at her amazed and then chuckles.

"Hm?" Marie lifts her head up with a confusion look of him chuckling.

"...Thanks, Marie. I'm glad to have you here to knock my head back." Ayumu thanked her.

"You're welcome...I'm glad I was of good use. Will you come to the kitchen? We are going to have a celebration for that boost ability Beatrice has now after the side mission from yesterday." Marie told her.

"You got her favorite strawberry cake?" Ayumu asked.

"Yes...it's a wonder how you can make cakes in this game...wait, how did you know she likes strawberries?"

"She told me." Ayumu simply lied but it was half true since Beatrice was really the one who told him but before all of this happen.

"I see...well, the party doesn't start until later. What do you want to do?" Marie asked.

"I was wondering...if you can..." Ayumu smiled a bit under his helmet. "...Help me do some upgrades to my weapons."

"Your weapons?!" Marie eyes glittered with joy at the sound of weapons. "Really?!"

"Sure. I was wondering if you can teach me how to add elements to my weapons." Ayumu told her.

"I'd be happy to!" Marie smiled more then looked at him. "Can you tell me about your skill? My skill is blacksmith, repairing comrade's weapons and giving them a limited rage attack."
