Chapter 19 The Grimm Reaper

//Ayumu POV//

"..." Ann's expression was nothing but pain as she whimpers on the floor. Her body limp on the floor, armless and her massive weapon inches from her. But her eyes were on Ayumu...watching as-

"...ARGH!" Ayumu growled as he was thrown into the air. Another massive wound that spread across his chest and his health close to red as it was already in yellow. He fell on his back and barely able to react as the man with the mask zooms down upon Ayumu. The blade of the scythe striking and impaling him. The blade digging through his chest but luckily it was impaled on his right shoulder.

"Slow...is this all you have?" the man asked calmly as Ayumu screamed the immense pain.

"Scarlet! Ann!" a new voice is heard and the man pulls the scythe out of Ayumu. Realizing it was Nina who has appeared, attacking the man but was blocked as their weapons collided.

"Hello, Nina." The man said calmly.

"Grim...it's been too long..." Nina snarled.

"Nina..." Ann said weakly due to her wounds.

"Bastard..." Nina snarled as she looked at Ann from the corner of her eyes. "Why did you attack my friends?!"

"You must understand, I am here for Scarlet R.E.D...this doesn't concer-" the man, Grimm, speaks but is interrupted by Nina's yelling at him.

"YOU BASTARD!!!" Nina yells at the top of her lungs as Ayumu watched her pushing her blade against Grimm even more...the man wasn't even fighting back. "Leave him alone!"

How do Nina and Grimm know each other? Who is this Grimm person? Why is he attacking us?! Why did he...doesn't matter, I'm going to kill the bastard for what he did to Ann! Ayumu thought in rage as he attempts to stand back up but struggles from the pain for missing a chunk of his stomach and the multiple injuries across his body and his helmet missing bits of itself, Ann seemed to be bearing the pain. She was breathing regularly and healing was beginning as 1 inch shards of light began to repair her missing arms every second.

"...N-Nina..." Ayumu rasped out as the battle between his leader and the man. But the man was simply blocking her attacks.

"Bastard! You bastard! How could you?! HOW COULD YOU?!" Nina shouted as she recklessly swung her sword over and over the same direction with her eyes closed as she continues her assault.

"I don't wish to harm you, Nina-Sama-"

"DON'T CALL ME THAT, YOU MONSTER!!!" Nina roared as jumps up to attack just when Ayumu finally managed to finally stand.

"You left me no choice then!" Grimm roared back. Ayumu quickly realizing that he was to slice Nina-

"NO!" Ayumu shouted as he moved as fast he could...faster than he thought he could. Tackling Nina from harm's way but resulting in the blade hitting his back. Slicing horizontally his back and he grunts in pain.

"Scarlet?!" Nina cried out upon hearing him. They both fell to the floor, the pain returning and him no longer able to stand.

"I'll expect you soon, Scarlet R.E.D...and if you think of not coming...here's some motivation." Grimm said as Ayumu painfully looks towards the man. Eyes widen to see the man holding Ann by her front shirt with one hand.

"Ann!!" Ayumu and Nina shouted before the man took off in a run with Ann in his grasp, his body becoming smaller at every step as he and Ann went into the woods.

"No! Ann!!" Ayumu cries out as he attempts to stand but falls.

"Scarlet?!" Nina shouted worried as she helps him up.
