"Um, actually, I just forgot... I actually had to... Um... Do some important things during lunch," that sounds so convincing.

I would actually rather just have lunch by myself, if that means not hanging out with these people. I'm not quite sure myself why I don't want to hang out with them but I just don't. Maybe because I tend to hurt people — literally — whenever they get close to me. But knowing my luck, sooner or later, I will get attached to them and I will probably hurt them. They're probably not going to know what hit them, but it will just happen in a blink of an eye.

James looked at me suspiciously and spoke without any accusation in his voice, "Are you trying to avoid us? Why don't you want to hang out with us?"

"No, I'm not. I'm just... I don't know," I keep my head down and finish off the work that was given to us.

James was pouting for a minute then suddenly he had this face like he just thought of the most brilliant idea. He surprised everyone by standing up and getting everyone's attention, including the teacher's. Somehow I knew that this wasn't going to end well.

"Carter doesn't wanna hang out with me!" James whines whilst pouting.

What the hell is he doing? He's making a fool of himself! He looks over at me and does the puppy dog eyes which I kindly returned by flipping him off. He faked hurt and talked again.

"Why won't she hang out with me? Someone please answer me!"

"Because maybe you're retarded?" Michelle snorts at her own joke which was followed by a stupid giggle from none other than her number one follower Patricia.

James ignored the stupid comment and continued to torture me by embarrassing me in front of everyone. This has been one of the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me.

"Please hang out with us, Carter!" He shouts then whispers, "I won't stop until I get my yes," he winks.

"Fine!" I groan.

"She said yes! She's going to hang out with me!"

I couldn't even see how me hanging out with them is such a big deal. It just, it really isn't that big of a deal. I look over at Ms. Fenech to see that she finds all these interesting, probably reminiscing her high school days.

"Why would you even want to hang out with that mutt? Have you become that retarded? She's pathetic," Michelle does her infamous giggle with Patricia.

"I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't seem to get my head that far up my ass," James defends me before I got a chance to say anything.

Ms. Fenech tried her best not to laugh but it was pretty obvious how much she wanted to. The room was roaring with laughter as Michelle glares at James and Patricia dips her head down in embarrassment.

"Okay, everyone. Quiet down please, back to work," Ms. Fenech attempts to make everyone shut up which surprisingly worked.

It has been a whole 45 minutes since the great talk happened between James and Michelle. I was now sitting beside Parker who forced me to sit next to him with Cole and Erik right behind us. Thankfully, stupid b*tch face isn't in my class. While everyone was busy working on their calculus worksheets, I took my phone out and played Color Switch.

Time passed with no one talking to each other. Everyone seemed to be so busy working and actually learning. Even Cole and Parker, except Erik who was busy like me on his phone. But I doubt that he was playing Color Switch I bet he was talking to his girlfriend.

The bell finally rang signaling that we can head off to lunch. I was about to escape Parker when he decides to somehow manage to block my way.

"Hey Carter, where do you think you're going?"
