"What the hell happened Carter?!" Cole practically yells at me once we came in the gym.

"What the hell is your problem!" I counter back just as loud.

"Why would you get into a fight on your first day at school?!" His nostrils flare.

"Why are you even so bothered?! Just leave me alone!" I try to walk away but he stops me by grabbing onto my arm.

I look at him and was about to say something when he beats me to it. "I'm sorry, Carter. It's just that..." His face looks so vulnerable but that didn't last long as it came back to his blank expression. "Don't worry about it. Just go." He lets go of my arm and walk off.

I was left there dumbfounded as I see his figure retreat to the boys locker room. I made my way over to the girl's locker room where I found Michelle and Patricia retouching each other's make up.

"You alright there?"

I turn around to find Rylie. How could I just forget about her and ignore her?

"I'm fine. Thanks Rylie," I smile.

"That's good," she smiles back. "Well we better get ready before Mr. Grayson gets anymore furious," she laughs and I join her.

After fixing ourselves, I look at my watch to see that the first half of the lesson was wasted on this jungle drama. If only Michelle wasn't such a b*tch then this wouldn't have happened. I make my way to where everyone else was taking a break and almost fell, losing balance, when Connie attacked me and full on bear hugged me.

"Are you alright? This shouldn't happen in your first day of school!" She pouts and looked so adorable.

"Yeah, I'm good," I replied. Of course I wasn't good though, only a fool would believe me. Not saying that Connie and everyone else is a fool but I guess I'm just pretty good at hiding what I actually feel.

"Where's Cole?" I ask Connie.

"Oh, uh, he decided to skip class with Parker," she simply shrugs.

"Oh," was all that came out. I should've known. Those guys are probably so used to skipping school just like how I am so used to faking it.

The rest of the lesson just consisted of Michelle trying to stare me down, Connie and Rylie talking about what they're going to wear on Saturday and the whole class, including me, playing dodgeball. I'm proud to say that I didn't get hit by a dodgeball in the face. However, Michelle did. Someone had accidentally thrown a ball in her direction whilst she wasn't paying attention because she was a complete and utter idiot. Don't ask me how I know that it was an accident but, maybe, that someone is coincidentally me.

I am now walking with Connie and Rylie to meet up with the others in the school's parking lot since we all had free period next. Everyone has decided to go to a nearby pizza parlour to fill their empty stomachs. I tried making up excuses to not go with them because I really don't want to see Cole right now but no such luck.

My train of thoughts came to an abrupt stop as I hear Rylie greet everyone. I look up to see Cole staring directly at me and his look was too intense that I had to look away.

"Who's catching a ride with who?" James claps his hands together.

"I'm obviously going with Erik," Connie says as she holds on to Erik's arms.

"I'm fine wherever," Rylie smiles.

"I'm catching a ride with whoever because I just hitched a ride today as I couldn't find my car keys," Parker shrugs.
