"I've just had the most brilliant idea!" Parker exclaims.

"Yeah, what's that?"

"Carter should come to the party on Saturday!"

****

"That's not really a great idea, is it Parker?" Cole says, eyeing me.

Everyone else turns to stare at him, looking so confused. What the hell is his problem? And where did he come from? He left us like 5 minutes ago and now he's back. He's being a complete and utter stubborn child and I have done nothing to him! Plus I wasn't even thinking of going to the party anyway.

"What the hell, Cole!" Rylie exclaims.

"But Cole, she's a great company!" James whines.

"Why not?" Parker simply asks.

"It's fine, guys," everyone then turns their attention to me. "I wasn't thinking of going anyway."

"What?!" They all yelled except, of course, Cole who had a smirk painted on his stupidly handsome face.

I shove my hands back in my pocket and look at the ground. "Partying isn't exactly my thing."

"But you have to come! It's going to be mad!" James pouts.

"We'll talk about this later," Rylie gives me a knowing smile.

"But Rylan-"

"Shut it, James. I said we'll talk about this later," Rylie says sternly as everyone else continues to walk.

I feel bad for refusing to come to the party but it really isn't my thing anymore. I'm not really a social butterfly anymore, if it wasn't obvious.

"So... what subject do you have?" Parker looks at me.

"Physics," I sigh.

Parker nods as Rylie link arms with me while we walk to Physics. I'm late yet again to my class on my first day of school and I couldn't be any more proud of myself. Parker says goodbye when he reaches his class and we all do the same. We walk in the class where the teacher was marking the class roll.

I look around to see Erik and Connie already seated next to each other down the back. Four of the seats in front of them were unoccupied so I took that as a cue that they saved the seats for us.

"Carter White?" The teacher calls my name out as I was about to take a seat next to Rylie. I give her a small smile that instantly fades when she says, "It's not really a great first impression being late, is it? Take a seat."

I did as I was told and hear snickers from no one else  but Michelle and Patricia who was sitting next to Stephanie. Why Stephanie is friends with them, I can't explain.

"Don't mind them," James says and I turn around to thank him which causes Cole to give me an eye roll.

The whole fifty minutes in class was beyond boring. Rylie and I would talk here and there but the teacher was literally just staring at me so I would stop talking.

We were walking out of class with Rylie beside me and Cole, James, Erik and Connie behind us when I feel someone grab my arm causing me to stumble.

I turn to look at who grabbed my arm to see that it was the Pizza Delivery guy. Everyone else turns to look at him and he awkwardly pulls his hand away back to his side.
