Ch3: Dusk Manor

-Shays pov-

We flew all day and just as the sun was setting we came upon a huge looking manor and landed in a clearing to the west of it. We unbuckled and grabbed our bags and followed our mom walking down a short trail through the trees. Coming upon the manor it was huge and looked more like a castle then anything. We followed our mom towards the front entrance that had two men standing by it when they seen our mother they smiled.

"Lizzie welcome back,"

"Thank you gentlemen. Oh! also meet my twin daughters."

She smiled and pointed to me and my sister,

"This is Shay and this here is Denice."

"Ladies welcome to dusk manor it's a pleasure to meet you."

We smiled and thanked them then walked into the big manor. Our new home for the next 6 years. Mom lead us down a couple hallways and up a winding staircase until we came upon a big room it had a big bed and too small cots.

"Girls this is my room and you will be sleeping in it with me until school starts."

By the time we got settled in it was late and getting really dark so we just decided to go to bed. The next morning we woke up and mom took us down to the grand hall for breakfast we ate in silence and then mom spoke,

"Ladies I have school stuff to do so your on your own today but I have rules:

1. Do not any under circumstances leave the manor grounds

2. Don't get in anybody's way

3. Stay out of trouble "

She smiled and that was that she was gone me and my sister decided to explore our new home we started in the grand hall and most of the class rooms, the ginormous library, we saw a big courtyard pretty much in the middle of the manor, all the different bathrooms well the girls ones we even found a big ball room we wandered around outside and saw four trails in the back each had a sign and each sign had a name:

1. House of Aphra  
2. House of Cedric
3. House of Rosalie
4. House of Alaric

We figured they had something to do with the dorms we explored the whole day and in the evening we had dinner with our mom and ate before we knew it we were going to bed excited and nervous for tomorrow's events.

We woke up to the sound of staff doing last minute things before the students returned. The morning flew by we spent it in the library reading, had a quick lunch spent some time following mom around and then right before supper all the returning students started to arrive. Mom sent us to get into our black uniforms we bought a few days before and then down to the main entrance. When we saw a group of 40 kids our age they must of been just starting like us we joined them and shortly after a man joined us.

"Hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to dusk manor i am Mr Fitz and I would like to tell you that in a few minutes we will begin the ceremony of the fledglings that you and basically the ceremony is all of you being sorted into your houses where you will remain for the next 6 years. How you will be sorted happens like this you will take a special dagger the dagger of Rolland it was him that created this school for his kids he is our founder. You will slice the dagger across the palm of your hand then you will let a drop of blood hit the crystal of Eden. A crystal that was created by Eden the wife of Rolland. The crystal of Eden will be on the table in front of you it will sizzle and change colours landing on one solid colour. Although it has been said that the crystal of Eden chooses two colours for those who are descendants of Rolland and Eden that means they get a choice of what colour to pick , what house they will be in."
