The majority of the school had gone to Hogsmeade for the day, but I didn't want to go. Some times being in the castle when it's quiet was beautiful, it reminded me of the times I stayed for Christmas.
Being prefect, I had access to a few hidden rooms at Hogwarts.

Every set of prefects had a secret room, to fit the Slytherin colours the room was painted black. The curtains were dark green, matching the two long couches with linings of silver.
In the far corner there was a grand piano and an art easel. The mirror was bigger than life itself, the chandelier was glistening.
Of course, being in the dungeons there would be a leakage. So this hidden room was located within a room close to Dumbledore's office.

I walked the empty halls, leading to the Slytherin secret room. A very large painting of Salazar himself was hung upon the wall. "Ah, miss Goossens. Password?" He asked. "Pureblood" I smirked, and the painting was lifted letting me into the beautiful room.

I opened a draw in the dresser, where I kept all my artwork. I figured it would be safer here as the only other person permitted in this room was Scorpius Malfoy. I hummed a song whilst taking out the easel and placing it by the grand window, revealing the scenery of the Black Lake. I was a very proud pure blood and often drew picures of the common room, a snake and sometimes Salazar.

I pulled out my wand to cast a spell, making the piano play some classics. It was calming, today I had decided to draw Salazar's locket. I had to draw it from memory as it wasn't in my possession .

About half hour had passed and the door had shot open, I turned around quick where Scorpius was standing. "Oh hello Scorpius" I greeted, we weren't ever great friends. We actually didn't talk, only occasionally.

"Hi Luna, I'm not disturbing you am I?" He asked. I shook my head "not at all, how come you didn't go to Hogsmeade?" I asked curiously.

"Didn't feel up to it this year... You?" He asked as he came closer. "Me too, Hogwarts is more enjoyable when it's quiet" I replied, still painting the Locket.

"That I can agree on, are you drawing the locket?" He asked, I nodded "yes, I love to draw".

"It's lovely" Scorpius smiled, making me blush slightly. " I don't see you around much, perhaps a trip to Hogsmeade would be in order?" He suggested, making me blush even more.

"That would be splendid" I replied. We spend the rest of the day together, laughing and joking about. Even sharing our personal lives with our families, I never realised how much we had in common.

Christmas break had arrived, Scorpius and I had been spending more and more time together. We were sat in the common room, waiting for the express to arrive. "Don't forget to Owl me" Scorpius smiled as he looked at me intently. " I won't" I replied, my green eyes looking into his silver ones.

We had shared a compartment on the train, and shortly after arriving home I had received an owl from Scorpius, it read:
Dear Luna,
I was wondering if you would accompany me to my Father's Christmas ball?

I was ecstatic! I ran around my room like an idiot, giggling happy to myself. "Mother!" I shouted down.
"Yes Luna?" Said my mother who was now standing at the door frame. "Can I go to a winter ball, my friend Scorpius invited me?" I asked, hoping she would agree.

"Of course! Is he your boyfriend?" She asked raising an eyebrow. "No, we're prefects and very close friends" I explained.

"We can go shopping for a dress tomorrow. When is it?" She asked. I looked down at the parchment and it read "23rd of December".
"It's in two days" I replied. "We'll make sure you look beautiful... Is he pureblood?" My mother blurted out making me role my eyes. "Yes mother, now please leave" I shifted her out of my room.
