Skylar let his head fall to the table, a sigh of relief leaving his lips in exasperation. Midterms were finally over. Groaning as he sat back up straight, he stretched out his muscles as he contemplated on what to do next. Itachi still had one midterm left for tomorrow so seeing his boyfriend was out of the question. He hasn’t gone to a party in a while, though, now that he was with Itachi he didn’t feel like going to one without him. Sure the atmosphere was fun but the only real reason he went to them was to find someone to take home or go home with. Honestly, he was really just itching to go out for a drink. Grabbing a jacket and his keys, Skylar made his way out of his apartment and towards the nearest bar.

A smile spread on Skylar’s features as soon as he entered the establishment, the smell of stale beer meeting his nose. He wasted no time in taking a seat at the bar, showing the bartender his I.D, before ordering some extremely girly drink with an abundance of vodka in it. Honestly, they tasted great and got you drunk fast.

Two drinks down and Skylar was already starting to feel his head getting light. It sort of took the fun out of drinking when he knew exactly how the alcohol was affecting him and which parts of his brain and cognitive functioning would go first. Though, it did take the edge off a stressful week full of all-nighters and essays so that was good enough for him.

“Why am I not surprised to see you here?” Skylar glanced at the figure taking a seat in the stool next to him, a scowl immediately marring his features. Well, there goes his buzz.

“Leave me alone, Jake.” Skylar hissed, returning his attention to downing his drink.

“Come on. Let me at least buy you a drink.” Skylar’s eyes narrowed on him as he tried to wave the bartender over.

“No thank you. Now leave.” He could feel his heart momentarily clench as Jake’s green eyes met with his.

“Not even one for old time sake?” Skylar couldn’t help but roll his orbs at this.

“If you really want to do something for old time sake, why don’t you go fuck some random stranger?” A heavy sight left Jake’s lips. Their breakup was still a sore spot with Skylar. He wasted half a year with this guy and what did he get in return? Some cock slut defiling his sheets and the sanctity of his relationship.

“I screwed up. I know. I just want another chance.”

“I have a boyfriend.” A slight laugh left Jake’s lips at this.

“You don’t have to make up a fake boyfriend.” Skylar pulled away like Jake’s touch was venomous as he tried to set his hand on his leg. His hand clenched around his glass, near to the point of just smashing it up side Jake’s head. Opening his mouth, Skylar was prepared to tell him off but was interrupted before he had the chance.

“Is he bothering you, un?” Skylar noticed Jake’s face slightly go pale at the voice. Turning in his seat, Skylar laid eyes on a blonde male with only one blue eye visible. He glanced between the man and Jake questioningly before answering the question that was directed towards him.

“Actually, he is.” Jake’s green eyes snapped towards Skylar, slight fear behind them. A slight smile spread on the man’s lips as he peered at Jake.

“What do you have to say for yourself, pledge?”

“N-Nothing brother Deidara. I was just leaving.” Jake quickly scrambled from his seat and left the bar. Skylar watched in bemusement of the whole sight. From the looks of it, this man was Jake’s pledge master. Who knew he’d actually join a fraternity.

“Thanks for that.” Skylar gave Deidara a curt nod, gaining the blondes attention.

“No problem, un. That little bastard gets under my skin anyway.” Deidara exclaimed, taking the free seat next to Skylar. “You’re Itachi’s friend, right?” Skylar raised a brow in response, questioning how Deidara knew his boyfriend. As if understanding the questioning look, Deidara extended his hand for him to shake. “I’m Deidara. Itachi and I belong to the same fraternity, un.” Skylar gave him a dumbfounded look, shaking his hand regardless, as Deidara gave him a dazzling smile. He didn’t know Itachi belonged to a frat house.

“Really? I wasn’t aware of that.” Deidara’s smile widened a fraction.

“You sure, un? I remember seeing you at one of our parties.” Deidara let out a slight laugh, ordering a beer from the bartender as Skylar racked his brain for the memory.

“You mean the Akatsuki?” Deidara nodded, taking a sip from his glass.

“You ever think about pledging, un?” Skylar couldn’t help but laugh at this.

“No. I mean, I enjoy the parties and all but joining a frat house really isn’t my thing.”

“Fair enough, un. But if you ever change your mind consider pledging under me and not that bastard of an Uchiha.” A slight smile spread on Skylar’s lips as he realized Deidara thought Itachi was trying to convince him to pledge to their fraternity and steal him from underneath him. He half wondered what Deidara would think if he knew the real reason why him and the Uchiha were in cahoots.

“I’ll keep that in mind.” A smile spread on Deidara’s lips as Skylar decided to play along. Lifting his glass towards Skylar’s, Skylar took the hint and clinked his against Deidara’s in a friendly gesture.

“Cheers, un.” Skylar returned the ‘cheers’ before both of them downed the remaining liquid in their class, ordering another immediately. It looks like he found himself a drinking buddy.

Skylar groaned as he rolled onto his back, finding himself back in his apartment and in bed feeling like death. Fuck, Deidara nearly drank him under the table… How Deidara convinced him to do jagerbombs with him was beyond Skylar’s mental capability. Who knew the blonde could drink that much let alone know he would continue to push drinks at him the rest of the night? God, he overdid it. That much was clear.

Another pained groan left Skylar’s lips as his phones ringtone started blaring, not doing anything good for his splitting headache. He sluggishly moved, swiping his hand around his bed and nightstand in search of his phone. Finding it in the depths of his sheets, Skylar immediately answered it not bothering to check who was calling him.

“Hello?” Skylar rubbed his face, trying to calm the storm in his skull.

“You sound terrible. Did you just get up?” Skylar could make up the underlayment of amusement lacing Itachi’s voice. Glancing over at his clock, Skylar noted that it was nearly one in the afternoon, meaning that Itachi just got done with his last midterm.

“Yes.” He responded meekly, earning a soft chuckle from Itachi. “I have a hangover from hell.”

“Well, I just finished my last paper and was thinking about grabbing some lunch and bringing it over. But maybe I should just let you recuperate?” Skylar immediately sprung up in his bed at this, regretting it instantly as his head spun almost making him throw up.

“No! Come over. One kiss and I’ll be cured.” Another chuckle met his ear causing his stomach to flutter. Well, either that or he really was going to vomit.

“Fine, you convinced me. I’ll be over in half an hour.” A smile spread on Skylar’s lips. He was looking forward to seeing Itachi after almost two weeks of not seeing him because of school.

“Alright. See you soon.” Itachi responded with a quick ‘good bye’ before ending their conversation. Skylar quickly scrambled out of his sheets, making a b-line for the bathroom for a quick shower and through brushing of his teeth. There was no way in hell he’d be smelling or tasting of stale alcohol when Itachi arrived.
