Annabelle's POV
The taxi drove through the busy streets.
I kept checking my phone every single second, I wanted to be assured.
Finally, the ding came.
Lydia: it's done and look on his face was a killer, you had to see it! What's next now?
What's next? I don't know.
I looked up from my screen and concentrated on the road.
"So, why are you leaving the city?" the taxi driver asked
"I thought it was just nosey." I replied
Hell to the no, I won't tell the real reason to a stranger I just met.
"Oh, me too, you have no idea, the traffic is a disaster. My friend sam, he's also a taxi driver was in a car accident, thank god it was only a crack in his upper arm."
I looked at him and said "Not to sound rude, but I really don't care, I have a major problem at the moment." It sounded so rude and I wanted to apologize badly but I couldn't bring myself to it
"oh, okay, What kind of problem?" he asked , he didn't sound so hurt , he probably had a billion and one rude riders that he had to drop off
I'm never going to see this driver again so why not say it
"My parents were hoping that I would marry this guy, but he is evil" I say
"how?"
"He wants to get my dad's money and he actually wants to use me and also he loves this other girl, I think."
The taxi driver stays quite for some time.
We started to move and the traffic started to clear out.
"So, you decided to run away ?" he asked
"yes." I replied
"Running away from your problems will encourage them to come and chase you." He said sincerely
We started to exist the city and move into the desert, all of a sudden there was a helicopter above our car, and a loud speaker saying my name.
All of the hair on neck stands up, a chill moves through my body, and my blood boils in anger.
Dave.
"It's him, Step on it"
I didn't need to tell him twice, he sped through the road as if it was burning right behind us.
