Part 8

Peridot's POV

He pulled back, wait- a kiss symbolizes one's love for someone so..does that mean...

'Well of course he'd kiss you! You're his- one of his best friends!' oh no I'm talking to myself

But I've never seen him kiss any of the crystal gems, not even Lapis or that Connie!

"um, Peridot are you okay?"

Steven's POV

Her face was so cute! She had little stars in her eyes! But she was frozen... she wasn't saying anything.

Oh no it's probably cause' I kissed her! She probably doesn't like that!

"um, Peridot are you okay?" she talked again "Oh! I um- sorry" and we sat there "Im sorry I shouldn't have done that" my cheeks felt hot "no-no" I heard her whisper "hm?"

"No- I liked it" a warm smile was on Peridot's face

Then I was smiling, she giggled- then I was giggling. Now we we're laughing, how did we get ourselves into this? Haha

3rd Person POV

They were now laughing on the floor as the ship was moving. They eventually stopped and saw Earth at a distance away. Peridot stood up and walked up to log screen and checked the distance of Earth.

"listen Steven's its pretty late, you should get to bed now"

"what about you?"

"I'll just stand guard of the ship I guess" Peridot sighed "just have a good rest Steven" and she pecked him on the cheek. She realized what she did and turned a deep shade of green, Steven just chuckled and walked to his cell. Peridot sighed as she re-attached her limb enchancers. She sat in her large chair watching the Earth slowly

She felt her eyes slowly close

5 hours later...

THUD!

She woke up with a jolt "W-wha!" Meteors start to break through the ship. She quickly ran to Steven and picked him up she tried to put she and him in a pod. However as they were shot through space- the pod was slow inbetween the meteor shower. Peridot clung for dear life as she felt the wall of the pod get thinner and thinner. The pod cracked and Peridot and Steven floated in space, yet Steven was still asleep

"STEVEN!" Peridot said as she tried to Increase their gravity on the nearest planet, she took Steven's body and tried to get closer to Earth

"WE'RE ALMOST THEEEEERE" she shouted as she managed to dodge almost all the meteors. They made to the Earth's atmosphere and was being pulled to it. She shook Steven and he groaned "We're here" she said

CRACK

A meteor hit Peridot squarein the forehead and launched Peridot in an opposite direction

"Peridot?!" he said as he fell. Steven panicked as he was getting closer to the ground- he quickly bubbled himself and bounced lightly off the ground. "Peri, Peridot where are you!?" he panicked

Many tall palm trees surrounded him- all a light turquoise. He struggled around to find her. He ran all around the island- ignoring all of it's beautiful sights.He ran,frequently looking left and right for any signs of the gem.

Garnet's POV

Its been a week since Steven left- and Pearl was already freaking out. Unlike her- Amethyst was yelling at Pearl to calm down. The temple seemed much more eerie and depressing without him

"PEARL YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN!" Amethyst yelled again as she shook Pearl. Pearl was cradling herself as she covered her mouth from making loud crying noises

"HOW CAN I CALM DOWN?! STEVEN'S GONE !" she shouted back and whispered as she went back to her cradling

"Rose is gone..."

Amethyst's face was a face of anger, she was now disgusted "how dare you say that"

I left, I couldn't bare hearing this anymore- WE couldn't bare hearing this anymore. I opened my room and left

Pearl's POV

"WHY DO YOU ALWAYS THINK STEVEN IS ROSE, HUH?"

"..." He always cared

"I KNOW, YOU LOVED HER AND WHATEVER. BUT I LOVED HER TOO!"

"..." But she never loved me back, not in the way I wanted

"YOU NEED TO MOVE ON! "

"..." but he was my responsibility, what if he doesn't live? Then...then.. he's never coming back

"SHES NEVER COMING BACK!" that one sentence broke me into tears

"Im... sorry... Im so... sorry..." I collapsed and laid on the floor crying repeating those words, but I felt a two chubby hands pick me up slowly

"listen Im sorry, Im sorry I said that" her voice was soft as she dried my tears with my thumbs

"b-but its true Amethyst" I wailed "I've been selfish" she put an arm on my shoulder

"don't say that, I- I didn't mean it okay? it's just that your just SITTING there, that's not the Pearl I know. The Pearl never gives up" Pearl nodded

"y-you're right...no giving up anymore"

"that's my P" she smiled and walked to the door "Imma get some donuts, then we'll talk okay?"

She nodded and smiled
