"wh-woah!" both Steven and Peridot's voice trembled. They no longer saw each other's faces, they were one now. They stood up and looked at their hands - a grey tannish color. They looked up at their clothing- a dull red brown tank top with a light yellow triangle at the bottom. Followed by dark brown shorts that moved up to their belly- with a light brown gem on the navel. They had socks that were cut to their toes, with the same color of their tank top. Their hair was pointed up like Pearl's –as sharp as Peridot's.It were curled up at the end like Steven's, it had dull green goggles with a yellow screen- with Peridot's now brown gem. Their eyes sparkled when they realized they were talking in sync
"w-we" their breath was short as Connie stood in awe
"Y-you fused?!" she exclaimed.

"I- I think so" the more masculine but soft voice said
"I-I mean I KNOW so!" the higher pitched voice said
"but who are we?" the two voices merged together to make a deep female voice but soft as the human-boy- but still as energetic as the green gem known before. They sat down and thought
"I think, this makes us- an Aventurine" they said, their face satisfied with the name
"um, can we go now?" Connie said, obviously scared by the much taller fusion. Aventurine took her hand and walked silently with her. They stepped on the warp pad and carried Connie to her home. Connie gave her best smile to try to convince them that she was okay. Since Steven was a part of Aventurine- Steven saw through all of it and tried to make a fake smile too. It hurt both of them but they had to contain the form till Connie was home
"okay, bye" she stepped in her house and slammed the door. Aventurine sighed and ran toward the nearest bush and sat behind it. they concentrated till they unfused. Steven opened his eyes to see Peridot blushing a dark green with a goofy smile. He hugged her tightly and said "you're finally home".
Peridot's POV
I felt my face heat up, but I didn't want to show it so I started struggling
"l-let go of me" I tried multiple times but he was stronger. I eventually gave up and hugged him back.
"you clod"
"admit it you love me" he said and I mumbled 'I love you' so he couldn't hear.
"aww" Steven cooed
He took my hand and helped me up as we walked back to the temple, it was good that I could finally relax after all of this. I knew eventually I was going to face homeworld soon
But it didn't matter right now
All that matters is Steven and I

Steven's POV
Peridot and I collapsed on the couch, no one else was there so we just kinda fell asleep. Later I felt soft breathing on my neck. I opened my eyes and I saw the most adorable thing ever.
Peridot was sleeping on my lap
Oh wait, shes asleep
That means I can...
I poked her hair and smoothed it to go downwards and it bounced back in its place
"how..." I said and she started to move and I shushed
She went back to sleep. A little drool came out of her mouth
She's too cute
I put an arm over her and bring her closer to me
"Yellow Diamond..." she started
"-you're such a clooood" she continued and I chuckled
I shook her and she woke up "hm?"
"do you wanna eat something?" I know she doesn't need to eat but she likes it
"okay" she sat up and started walking "im going to get my tablet okay?"
"okay, see you later" I walk to the kitchen and get some bread
Peridot's POV
I walked to the barn, it looked very unkempt- messier than usual. I knocked and shouted for Lapis
"Lapis!" the door immediately opened and she pulled me in a hug
"Peeeeeeriiiiiiiidoooooooooooooooooooooooot!" she started swinging me around like a you-yo
"yes!?" I yelled
"I missed you" she stopped and dropped me on the ground
"I missed you too Lapis, now" I dusted off my form and said "do you want to go to the temple with me?"
She smiled and said "yeah sure!"
"just give me a minute-" I ran to the barn and looked for it. It was on the couch so I picked it up and walked out to see Lapis sitting on our truck, I called out to her and we ran back to the warp and warped back to the temple.
