MIA CONTINUED TO stare blankly ahead of her, not at all hearing dr. khan's medical advice. her mind was blank-- nothing was of importance to her anymore. she didn't even notice sebastian's heartbreaking gaze as he stared down at her, guilt radiating off of him.

"ms. zuniga? aramia?" the doctor patiently called out, not being acknowledged at all. mia finally looked up when chris put his hand on her arm.

she looked up and nodded silently to the doctor. she hadn't spoken once since she had woken up. and it was starting to worry everyone around her. 

"i think i'll just come back at another time. ms. zuniga needs some time alone to comprehend what's happening. i suggest one of you stay with her, and please don't hesitate to call me if you have any concerns." he patiently said and smiled sadly at mia.

once the doctor was out of the room, mia looked down at her hands, and continued to play with her fingers. chris, sebastian, roccio, and anthony all looked at each other, worry clearly etched into all of their faces. 

"mia... i know you're not fine, and it's going to take a lot of time and effort to heal, but we want you to know that we're all here for you. and not just us, you have the rest of the cast and all of your friends in the waiting room. even zayn canceled a show in vancouver just to come see you." roccio softly mumbled.

nothing happened. mia didn't even look up. and sebastian's heart clenched as he knew that she would never be the same again.

"mia, it's us. please just say something." chris lovingly said to her, hoping that would get her to speak.

again, nothing.

chris then shocked everyone as he put his hand on her thigh, meaning for the gesture to be one of support. however, mia didn't think twice before she flinched and pulled her leg from his touch, immediately crying out, "no!"

it had been nearly a month since anyone had heard her voice, however they did not expect her voice to sound so broken. it was extremely hoarse and shaky, as if she hadn't had a drink of water in forever.

chris pulled back as quickly as he could, looking away as he could feel the hot tears leave his eyes. he stood up, and walked towards the door, ready to exit.

"chris, don't. she needs you." roccio called out.

he looked down, not turning back to face everyone. "i can't see this, ro. i just can't."

and he left. roccio and mackie looked at each other, both starting to lose hope as they realized chris himself had lost hope. sebastian, however, stayed put by her side, not at all wavering.

mackie softly nudged roccio, nodding towards the door. she looked back at mia who was blankly staring at the floor before she sighed and walked out of the room, anthony following closely behind. sebastian continued to loyally sit by mia's side, not at all looking away from mia's face, hoping he can get at least one reaction from her.
