His POV:
I found myself on a dusty road just after the small village I had resided in for nearly a week. I was weak, they told me, Half dead left to die. But I knew better, The place I came from was much more greater then this little kingdom. Eventually I left, I had things to do, places to see and they couldn't hide me from the gaze of the one I'd learnt was the 'Princess'. She was beautiful, I thought, prettier than the sea and the sky combined. On posters and magazine covers she looked kind, her inner soul displayed to the world. But in interviews she was cold, fearless and extremely formal. Why couldn't she let her guard down? her people were friendly and loved the true her. But from the way she acted, she didn't know herself and obviously no one had made an effort to tell her. The villagers had been kind to me. I was given to a childless couple who wanted someone to adore, no matter if they were old enough to have a full time job. "Abe" They named me, like the lady's great grandfather. I knew them as Papa Steve and Mama Anna. Mama Anna made great ravioli's and Papa Steve tried to bond with me by taking me fishing whenever his demanding job allowed it. The first few days were a blur like I came out of another universe but after a while I figured out who I really was. My legs were getting tired now, In my old life I never had to walk this much, but I guess being poor in this life was what I had to deal with. A white ferrari whizzed past me, I recognized it as the royal one, As I turned around I saw the princess herself. Her face was pressed up to the glass and she was wearing these hideous yellow and blue glasses that didn't suit her face shape at all. She looked like she was dying from being cooped up in her car for so long and she attempted to wave to me because that was her royal duty. I playfully waved back, trying to stifle my laughter. A tear ran down her cheek. I froze, I didn't want to have a bounty on my head because I made a princess cry, She seemed quite soft, though. Hard outer shell, soft inner core. I kept walking and a little while later I heard a car break, fast. She probably forgot something I thought to myself. I waited a while for her car to do a U turn, so I could tell if she was seriously upset, but it never did. I shrugged it off. Eventually I stopped to have a quick lunch break, I was starving. Mama Anna's Ravioli tasted delicious in my mouth. I was sleepy as well, so I decided a little nap by a nearby tree wouldn't hurt.
THE DREAM: I woke up at a fancy palace bigger and prettier than the normal royal one. It had a little pond in the corner of my vision and the sky was a amazing colour. I checked myself out in the reflection of the pond. The mirror image of me was wearing fancy clothes fit for royalty but my hair was still the same, Thick and a pale blonde. I knew it was a dream of course. I was a lucid dreamer, one of few. When I asked Papa and Mama they just looked at me confused. "This is the 23rd century, kid, simple lucid dreaming is ancient now" Papa informed me. But he gave me a reassuring pat on the back and said he could pay for a few controlling classes. Anyway as I continued to look around, a girl in a long white nightgown ran into the clearing. "Help!" she gasped as she almost collapsed. She had deep red scratches all over her neck and face. "I have you" I informed her as she fell into my arms. "Save my sister" she gasped for air as she went still. I put my hand to her forehead, She wasn't dead but she was out cold. Just then I recognised her face. It was the princess.
When I woke up, everything looked clearer. The trees looked greener and the Gwelao hills looked brighter than usual. I stood up rapidly and dusted off the dirt that I had rolled in. I realised I still had half of Mama Anna's Ravioli to eat and unclipped my rucksack from my shoulder. It was a small worn one, Papa's old one from 25 years ago where he meet Mama on a hike in the hills. They dated for a couple years then decided to have a small village wedding. But then one of the serving robots they had hired had malfunctioned and it trashed the reception area. Mama said that it was a good wedding nonetheless. My Rucksack felt lighter. And when I couldn't find the ravioli dish I tipped the whole thing over. Half of my things were missing. My tortoiseshell comb, My other two dishes of ravioli, Some bread and cheese, all my money, and my cellphone. "What the...." I wondered angrily, The cellphone had cost a fortune, I had to take on a job working on the Mayor's farm for all of summer and autumn last year. It was especially difficult with his daughters cooing over all of the good looking workers and rating us based on our looks. I had a go at them but kind of shut up when they giggled and rated me a 9.
