As soon as she turned 18 her parents were divorced and moved as far away as possible, therefore she is alone. Her boyfriend was possibly the sweetest guy you will ever meet, until he turned into a monster.
Evangeline lives in a crappy apartment by herself and has a small job at a book store. No college because she couldn't afford it and hasn't been able to contact her parents in 2 years.
She's been by herself for years now and is used to it.
It's a little crazy to think that's she's alone in the massive city of Chicago.
Well she was fine being alone until unusual things started to happen in the Chicago streets. She had never wished for someone before that time.
And one night during the midst of the weirdness, things started to happen in her very own apartment. When seeing the small pile of black sand she knew something was up.
