The next day was Saturday. Joss stayed in her room, reading. Evan went to work at the pizza place down the road from joss. Joss decided to order pizza. She thought about what Evan said and decided she didn't want to continue to put herself through the pain of being anorexic. She had the pizza delivered. Her mum was away with her brothers so she had nothing to worry about. She walked down the stairs of her big house and made it to the front door. There stood Evan, pizza in hand. She passed him the money, he passed her the pizza. Then it struck Evan, this was the girl he saw at school being harassed. It struck joss that this was the boy who sat across from her In the corridor. Joss signed the receipt and Evan recognised the handwriting. "People only care if you're pretty or dead" he mumbled. Joss's eyes lit up with hope for the first time In forever "or if it's too late" she mumbled back. Without warning joss dropped the pizza and pulled Evan into a hug. She did not know this was Evan. Evan did not know this was joss. Joss could smell cigarette smoke in him. This was one of the first times since his friends died where Evan had a warm feeling inside him. He actually smiled. It was beautiful. Joss also smiled. She grappled a piece of paper and wrote her number down she gave the paper to Evan and he left. Once Evans shift was over, he made his way home. He put the number the mysterious girl had given him in his phone only to realise he had been talking to her all along. He decided to text her
