"I don't understand why he thinks he's better than us."
"We'll just have to show him. Don't make a big deal out of it. You know we'll leave him speechless and demanding a rematch."
"You're right." Hinata and Kageyama were still a bit ruffled after encountering the one and only, Ushijima. You couldn't help but giggle.
You leaned against the wall of the schools entrance as you heard them talking and venting. You pushed yourself off of the wall and walked to them.
"We got so sidetracked... We have to make it back before Daichi scolds us."
"Karasuno boys~"
"What'd you say?" Kageyama angrily asked Hinata.
"What? I thought that was you?"
"Stop playing around."
"What?"
"How rude ! I'm right here!" They turned around and looked at you, confused and quiet. You smiled and crossed your arms.
"I've watched you guys play many times. My Ushi-kun is better though~"
"Eh? What are you, his fangirl?"
"His girlfriend actually. Ushi-kun is very talented and strong. Both mentally and physically."
"What are you trying to say?!" The amber headed boy asked. You smirked and turned on your heels to walk away.
"Hey! You're just gonna insult us and walk away?!" You giggled and stopped, turning your head to look at them.
"My Ushi-kun is the best alone. Even better with his team. But I wonder... How will these creatures of flight plan to take down a majestic being. I'm more amused than anything. No doubt you guys are talented yourselves. I look forward to seeing you all soon." With that, you walked off to the gym.
Kageyama and Hinata stood there confused.
"Did we get insulted? Or was that compliment?"
"Ah, how the hell should I know?"

"Ushi-kun~" The tall sweaty male turned to you as he held the ball in one hand and wiped his forehead with his shirt using his other .
"I just saw your friends!" He walked to you and gave you a slightly amused stare.
"Did you taunt those kids?" You placed your pointer on your bottom lip and thought for a second.
"Not at all..." He gave a small smirk and shook his head.
"Liar." He walked off to continue his practice. You huffed and crossed your arms.
"Boyfriends don't call their girlfriends liars!" Tendou laughed and looked at you. He always instigated everything between you and Ushijima but not when it came to anything serious, really. Just to make things fun.
"You know, you are the queen of taunting."
"Eh? Not at all!"
"Is that so?"
"Yes. I am an innocent soul." Although it was low, you could hear very clearly your boyfriend chuckling.
"I don't see what's so funny!"
"Just be his cheerleader and stay quiet." Tendou said followed by a wide grin as he held back laughter, knowing well enough his joke would rile you up humorously. You glared at him and sat on the bench.
"Heh. You're so lucky I don't have the ball you red headed rat." He laughed and placed his hand over his chest pretending to be offended.
"Hey, you two, stop joking around. I need to focus. He does too (Y/N). You know he messes up when you two speak."
"Huh?! No I don't !"
"Whatever you want, Ushi-kun!" Tendou mumbled under his breath and continued his practice.

"Look, those boys from yesterday." You pointed out. Ushijima looked and saw Karasuno's boys volleyball team in a restaurant from a big window. He examined the players and continued walking. You tilted your head and followed him like a puppy.
Entering a ramen stop, the two of you order your food and sat there quietly. You couldn't help but stare at him. He seemed to be lost in thought as he fiddled with his fingers.
"Ushi-kun. Are you worried?" He stopped and looked at you. He gave a small grin and looked out the window to see the restaurant they were in. The two shops being across from each other, helped him get a clear view.
"I'm more excited than anything actually. I look forward to our match. I'm very intrigued by what that small one said to me." He looked at his palm and whispered a bit.
"I'm Hinata Shoyo, and I sprouted from the concrete..." He closed his hand and made a fist. You stared a little then smiled.
"You're so cute when you get into thinking about things."
"Hm? Don't call me cute. Cute is-”
"Is for babies, I know. I'm just saying. You know, you're just... Cute." He smiled a bit and looked away.
"I can't believe how lucky I am to have you by my side."
"Oh?" He looked you in the eyes and spoke deeply.
"You're always by my side. Always praising me. Always talking highly about me to others. Your loyalty and support. It's beyond appreciated. I love you (Y/N). Thank you for being an amazing girlfriend."
"Ushi-kun... I love you too..." You was way too flustered to say anything else. He chuckled at your red face.
