It was an unusual night. Sonny was actually home. He was not at the squad room eating pizza and cannoli but rather sitting on the couch with me watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It had taken me forever to try and convince him to watch it. He didn't understand why the movie was so weird and why everyone was literally fucking everyone. I told him that that is just how the movie is. He just shook his head and continue to watch it with me with a confused furrowed brow plastered on his face.

I gave him a kiss on the cheek,"Thanks for watching this with me. You don't know how much this means to me."

"Ah it's nothing," he smiled, "I know I really have not been there for you Brittany. I want to change that."

I started to blush, "Stop it."

He smirked, "Stop what?"

"Stop being such a lovable dork! You're too good to me sometimes!" I giggled.

"No I'm not. You deserve it," he wrapped his arms tightly around me.

I gave him a kiss on the lips. It started off as just a peck, but it grew into something more. My hands found their way into his hair. It was soft and messy because he had taken all the gel out of it. His hands gently slide up and down my back ever so slowly driving me insane.

A loud scream interrupted us. Columbia had scream because she discover Eddie had died. Both of us jumped and then laughed at ourselves.

I said, "That might be the only scary thing in this movie."

"Yeah. I'm just shivering," he laughed.

I stared at him for a couple moments. Everything was completely and totally right. He was looking at me with huge smile, my favorite movie was playing in the background, and the cities light illuminate our otherwise pitch black room perfectly. I leaned in close to his ear and whispered...

"I love you."

It was the first time I said those words to him. That phrase was only reserved for my family and extremely close people in my life. I had not said those words to two of my exs. Before them I had been in a relationship that was toxic in every way. He would mentally and physically abuse me. Sonny and I met when I finally decided to charge and testify against him when a girl had come forward with rape allegations against him. They found me while looking up things about him. Sonny helped me after the trial. My ex was found not guilty. I was scared for my life, and I called Sonny when I caught my ex breaking into my house with a gun. Needless to say, we had been through a lot even before we got together. He has stuck by me every step of the way. I really could not be more grateful to him for being so patient and kind.

He was shocked when I said it, "I-I love y-you too."

I could not restrict myself, "I mean it Sonny. I love you with all my heart. It's been a glorious year and a half with you. I didn't think I would be able to say that with anyone ever again. I appreciate all that you have given me. You make me so happy. I didn't think I could feel all these emotions! Why am I so emotional?"

I wiped away tears from my face. Sonny ran his thumb under my eye, "Don't cry."

"I'm not crying," I held his hand, "I'm just being a dork right now."
