Jasmine

I paced back and forth, waiting for the phone call.

"So are you going to explain this shit to me? How do you know that guy?" Chris looked at me

"Long story. I'll tell you later."

My phone began to ring and I quickly answered it. "Hello?"

"Mommy?"

"Kam?! Oh my god. My baby. Are you ok?!"

There was fumbling in the background and then the line got silent.

"Hello?!" I looked at the phone

"You got my money?"

"Yes."

"Good. You move fast. What I want you to do is drop off my money and I will give you your son."

"What I'm going to do is, give you half now and you'll get the other half once I have my son."

"This isn't a fucking negotiation."

"I never said it was. So if you want to do this, you'll do it my way or I can get the police involved."

"I'll send you an address. Meet me there. Alone." The phone hung up.

I tossed the phone onto the chair.

"What they say?" Chris walked over to me.

"They sending an address. But they want me to come alone." I turned to face Chris.

"Hell no. Fuck that."

"Just let me go. I got it. I promise."

"Nah. I'm following behind you. They won't know."

My phone went off. Notifying me that I had a message. I ran over to my phone and looked at the message. It was an address.

"Let's go." I ran upstairs and grabbed the duffel bag full of money.

I tucked my gun into my waistband and pulled on a sweatshirt.

I walked back downstairs and Chris was already outside. He was sitting in a car that he never drives.

I threw the bag into my car and put the address in on the gps. It was about 30 minutes away.

During the drive, Chris kept his distance from me.

As we approached the place, I called Chris.

"The place is up here on the right. I want you to go past, make a left and turn around. Stay out of sight."

"I got you. Be safe. I love you."

"I love you too." I hung up the phone.

I pulled on the side of the road and watched Chris drive past. I hopped out of my car with the bag. I stood in front of an abandoned building.

I looked up and down the sidewalk and no one was in sight.

I took a deep breath. My phone began ringing before I walked inside.

I answered it and held the phone to my ear.

"I see you. Come inside."

I ended the call and stuffed my phone into my pocket. I walked into the building. The lights were dim, I could barely see.

"Stop."

I froze and looked around. I couldn't see anyone.

A few moments later, I could see movement ahead of me but I couldnt tell who it was.

"Hello Jasmine. You don't know who I am. But you may know who I work for. Drop the bag."

I let the bag fall from my grasp as I stood there.

"Now turn around and slowly walk towards the door."

I could hear the sound of a gun being loaded as I walked. I looked around at my surroundings, thinking of a plan.

The feeling of cold metal was placed against my head.

"Any last words?"

"Yea."

"Go ahead."

"Fuck you" I elbowed the person in the stomach and the gun went off, shooting toward the ceiling before sliding across the floor.

I quickly pulled my gun and shot the person in the arm.

"You tried the wrong shit. Where is my son?!" I yelled

"He aint here bitch. Kill me. I don't care."

"Where is he?" I placed the gun on his forehead

"He's with my boss."

"Give me your phone."

"Why?"

"Now!" I hit him with my gun

He handed my his phone and I put it in my pocket.

"Thanks." I smiled and shot him in his head.

I picked up the bag and walked out the building.

I got into my car and drove off. I passed by Chris and waved for him to follow me.

I drove around until I found a dumpster. I pulled down the alley and hopped out. I quickly stripped out of my clothes and threw them in, setting the dumpster on fire.

"What are you doing?" Chris looked confused.

"I had blood on me."

"What happen?"

"I killed him."

"What the fuck Jasmine." He paced back and forth. "You can't go back to jail."

"Look. Shit got crazy in there."

"I don't even want to know. I'm about to call a few people." He walked back to his car.

I shrugged and hopped back into my car, driving back to his house.
