Marks pov
"Hey Jacob!" I said when I got to his house on Friday morning

"Uh hi" he said and continued to walk, for the most part we just walked in complete silence but it wasn't that awkward which was good

All my other "friends" kept on texting me yesterday as to why I was hanging out with the "fag" I wasn't aloud to tell them the bet and I don't want to anyways because then they might tell Jacob and then the bets over

I noticed that he seemed upset, "you okay?"

He looked at me and nodded but I could tell his it was more of a fake nod

"You may not like me or just don't want to talk about anything, but I can tell something's wrong, what's up?"

"I'm fine" he said as if trying to convince himself

"Please, you don't have to tell me, just are you really okay?"

He shook his head no and I wrapped my arm around his shoulder, "don't worry whatever's wrong now will get better"

"Thanks"

When we reached the school i asked Jacob if he wanted to put his books in my locker because we have the same first class and his locker if far come the class, "I uh don't want to bother you" he said

"How can you bother me if I asked?"

He shrugged and I gently took his book bag and put it in my locker and closed it, "here" I said handing him a paper with the locker number so he knew where it was

"Thanks"

"You don't have to thank me, let's go" i said grabbing his hand and walked to class

Jacob pov
Walking to lunch
"Oh look who it is" I heard as I was walking to lunch

I started to walk faster but Louis, one of marks old friend grabbed me by the arm and dragged me be hide the school

"You made Mark change, he's ignoring us and he's hanging out with you, what did you do to him!!?"

"N-nothing"

"Don't lie to me!" He said and slapped me across the face

"Please" I said as a tear ran down my face

He kicked me a couple of times and slapped me  again and then he walked away, leaving me on the floor
Marks pov
During lunch, looking for Jacob
When Jacob didn't show up to lunch I went to go look for him because I heard Louis say something when I was walking in the lunch room that he beat someone up and I knew he always did something to Jacob so I knew I had to go outside and find him

I ran outside and ran around the school until I saw him on the floor with bruises on his face and a bloody nose

"Jacob!" I said running to him and crouching down in front of him

"Please don't hurt me" he said with tears running down his face

"Jacob I won't hurt you, it's Mark what happened? Do you want to go home?"

He nodded and went to stand up, his leg was bruised up badly badly but it wasn't broken or anything it just hurt him and when he took a few steps I saw the pain in his eyes

"I'll help" I said, he shook his head "look I can see how much it hurts please just accept the help he hesitated but nodded anyways, I put one hand on his back and the other under his leg and lifted him bridal style

When I brought him to my house  I sat him down on the counter and grabbed a first aid kit

"Jacob take off your shirt" I said after cleaning his face

"What no no no"

"Please, I just want to help. I know right now you don't trust me but I'm not trying to hurt you"

He nodded with tears in his eye and pulled his shirt off

I held in a gasp as I saw all the bruises on his body, old ones and new ones

I looked up at Jacob and saw the tears running down his face, I pulled him into a hug and just let him cry, "shhh, it's okay your okay now please don't cry"

I picked him up from the counter and he continued to cry, I brought him to my room and sat down with him on my lap

I just let him cry until he was done and he got off of me and sat down down next to me

"Listen , you going to turn out okay"

"How?"

"Because I'll help you through hard times"

"Thanks"
