Lance

Lance brought Margaret to his room, shutting the door behind her. He immediately went on a bout of apologies for what his mom did. "I'm so sorry I didn't think she would do that," he signed in a rush. "Now you're probably really uncomfortable. I'm sorry."

She smiled. "It's alright. She seems sweet," she replied. She must have seen the questioning look on her face since she added something else. "Really, it's fine." He nodded, looking to the floor. Looking back up, he saw her eyes all over his room. Her face seemed... happier than it had in her own house. Maybe it was just the days he had been there.

His room was nothing special, at least that's what he thought. That wasn't to say he didn't like it. In the far right corner was a bed with grey sheets, a small nightstand perched just beside it. He had a dresser on the opposite side of the room, and a desk on the wall with the door. Outside of that there wasn't much, and it was a lot smaller than Margaret's was.

When she finally looked back at him, he signed, "So... I don't have anything too exciting. Do you want to watch a movie?"

Margaret had agreed to a movie, so he took her to the tv room. This was after dropping their things off in his room, of course. He let her look at the movie selection and pick what they would watch. She asked him what "The Village" was about. No matter how many times he explained to her that it might have some parts that were scary, she insisted on watching it. He thought it was a good movie, so she wanted to see it.

As they watched, subtitles switching here and there on the screen, he noticed her twitch a few times. Whenever he looked over to make sure she was okay, she was watching with wide eyes. He couldn't help but smile. There was one part, however, where he suddenly felt arms wrap around his torso and a face bury into his chest. He stiffened and looked down to see the top of Margaret's head. He couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. He wrapped his arm around her as she buried her head into his chest more. He rubbed her back, moving her hair to the side so he could do so without making it messy.

After a few minutes, she moved her head so she could see the screen again but was still hugging him. There were a few parts where he felt her arms tighten around him for a second, but they would loosen as soon as the scene was over. When the movie reached its end, the credits running through, she didn't let go. She kept hugging him, and he continued rubbing her back.

After the credits were over, she tilted her head up to look at him. He looked down at her, making eye contact with her. They sat there, staring into each other's eyes for a while. Whenever he looked at her eyes, it was like the first time. They were a gorgeously vibrant green that could never get old. Eventually, she closed her eyes, resting the side of her head on his chest. They stayed like this for a long time, unmoving. He wished she would never leave.
