"What is lightning?"
"Lightning is shaped like the cracks in sidewalks and brick walls. It's branching, jagged...It's electricity, strong enough to do damage to buildings, to start fires, to kill people if they happen to be struck in the wrong way. It's white...but white hot. Imagine shocking yourself on a doorknob or on fresh washed pajamas. It's that shock times one million."
She laughed melodically. "Or something like that. I'm not super sure about the math."
He smiled too. So lightning was strong but beautiful. Like her.
