"I can't belive it."
"What?"
"I can't belive it!"
"What can't you believe?"
"There is no way."
"WHAT THE HECK DOES IT SAY?!?!"
"H-he grants his blessings for us to get married. He gave this letter to me when I was four. He knew he would die."
"I need time to think. Give me a few days."
"I'm heading for the Iron Hills tomorrow, so you have two weeks."
"Ok."
We had that conversation a week ago. He left for the Iron Hills to visit his cousin.
Have you made your decision yet, sweetheart?
Sorta.
Honey, you need an answer for when he comes back.
I miss him, but that can be from friendship.
How badly do you miss him?
I feel like something is going to go wrong.
That could be the friendship.
I also feel like something is missing.
Friendship.
I give up. I'll tell him no again.
Whatever you deem fit.
There was a knock on the door. Funny, Thorin is still in the Iron Hills.
I opened the door, and there stood my old friend.
"Shad! How are you? I haven't seen you in forever!" I exclaimed.
"That's why I came to visit." he grinned.
We went into the living room, and he started acting strange.
"Shad, why are you staring at me?"
"I'm not."
"Yes you are."
"You're beautiful."
"No I'm not."
"Of course you are."
He stood up and walked to where I was standing in the doorway.
"Shad, what are you doing?"
He leaned in closer.
"Shad, what is wrong with you? You never acted like this before!"
"You can't escape, that's what. And your little prince is miles away." he said.
"Don't be so sure!" Thorin was back early, thank god.
He crossed the floor and knocked Shad out.
I was shaking badly as Thorin's guards took Shad away.
"Flair, are you ok?" Thorin asked softly.
"What the heck is wrong with him? He never did that before. Why did he try that?" I whispered, not able to talk very well.
Thorin slipped his arms around my waist, pulling me in for a hug.
"You're fine now. He's gone."
I never fully trusted Shad.
Why did he do that?
He has a demented mind. He's lucky I'm not alive, and Thorin is more merciful than me.
Has this made up your mind about Thorin?
No, I can't think straight.
I came back to reality to find Thorin still hugging me.
"I-I need time to think." I said softly.
"Take all the time you need."
He kissed my forehead before letting go and leaving.
I went to my room and just stared at the ceiling.
Are you ok sweetheart?
No, my head hurts.
Would sitting in your normal spot by the river help?
I don't know. I could try it.
See if it will, because it did when you were little.
Ok.
I did as my parents suggested, and went to sit by the river.
I definitely missed him while he was gone.
Sitting by the river wasn't helping, so I decided to go to Erebor and sit on the railing of the balcony.
Suddenly, someone came up behind me, and wrapped his arms around me.
"Hullo Thorin." I said.
"Hello, my love. Have you made up your mind yet?"
"No, I'm very sorry. I haven't. My head hurts too badly."
As if one cue, he was massaging my temples, which surprisingly helped a lot.
I just leaned back, trying to relax.
"How's that?" he whispered.
"Thank you."
We just sat there in silence until Balin said that there was a letter for me from Rivendell.
Lili was just sending me some pictures...... The crazy elf.
