;< that thing right there, yeah, it's a love/hate relationship with me. The only reason people use a semi-colon is to look smart, and sometimes people overuse it dramatically in most Ouran fanfics I've seen.
Hikaru; Kaoru; and I went to the park.
(NO NO AND NO. A comma may not look so fancy compared to a semi-colon, but they have rules.)
In order to use a semi-colon, one must add a whole sentence onto another whole sentence: for example
Hikaru went to the mall; he had fun.
Both sentences can stand alone which is why I used a semi-colon.
Sorry, wasn't really a cliche but I felt the need to teach this lesson.
