Chapter 9

Mia pov
"Ugh" Noodle groaned in pain
"Noodle. Are you okay? Here drink this" I said handing him some water and lifting his head lightly. He coughed little but drank all the water.
"Are you okay?" I asked lying his head back down still crying.
"Hey, don't cry. I'll be okay now that your here" he said lifting his hand to my cheek and stroking it.
"I was so worried. I ...I thought I lost you." I said
"Then how would I be able to protect you forever?" Noodle said pulling me down to kiss him. After a while he pulled away wincing.
"Im sorry" I said
"It's okay it wasn't your fault, it just hurts a little" Noodle said
"I think I have some...." I said searching through my bag
"I got some pain killers. I'll get you some more water." I said going over to the sink and filling up my five water bottles.
"Here" I said handing him the pills and water while lifting his head for him.
"I'm going to take care of you. You're going to get better." I said putting his head in my lap and playing with his hair.
"I know you will" he said
"You should get some rest" I said
"Don't leave me" he said quietly
"I would never leave you. I love you" I said leaning down and kissing his forehead.
"I love you to" he said falling asleep.
Grover's pov
I tried but I couldn't do it. I couldn't kill Mary. I heard a noise and turned around ready to hit whatever was behind me.
"Jesus! Dude, it's just me." Diesel said
"why are you sneaking up on me?" I asked
"I'm not "Sneaking up" on anyone. Whatever. I'll leave." Diesel said
"Wait. I'm sorry. I wasn't really expecting anyone down here. " I said
"I just came down here to see if everything's okay." Diesel said
"She told me to kill her before she hurt somebody." I told diesel
"Nobody could do that." Diesel said
"We both know there are people here that could do that." I said
"Barrett's a douche." Diesel said
"I can't let this go on. Help me end this. " I said to diesel
"Okay how?" Diesel asked
"lets put her outside, Barrett can't get her out there she'll be free." I said.
Mia's pov
"Hey" I said to noodle as he woke up
"Hey" he said sitting up
"Be careful" I said
"It's fine I'm fine. I can barely even feel it." I said
"That's not how it sounded yesterday" I said worried
"I think it was the blood loss and exhaustion it just made everything seem worse, but I feel a lot better now" he said
"Are you sure?" I asked
"Yeah I'm fine" he said cupping my cheeks and kissing me.
"Even better now that I did that" he said after he pulled away from the kiss. I smiled at him and pecked his lips.
"Okay but I still won't you to take on other pain killer, just incase and drink lots of water." I said
"There are five bottles of water there" noodle said looking at the water.
"Yep and you're going to drink them all." I said
"Why don't you just fill up all the water bottles that the drama kids where using to make a costume" he said sarcastically
"That's a great idea" I said smiling at him
"There's like 50 bottles there you have to be joking" he said looking at me like I was crazy.
"Not joking I'm gonna fill them all"
"You're crazy" Noodles said
"Maybe" I replied. Pecking him on the lips again before getting up and giggling going to the tap to fill the water bottles.
Zoey's pov
"Lost and found is my new favorite shopping destination." I said checking out the pink shirt I found. LeSean sighed
"You okay? LeSean? Can I do anything to help?" I asked
"What's going on?" I asked
"We got to get out of here." LeShaen said starting to drag me
"No, won't you tell me what's wrong." I said
"Tell me, what's with you?" I said
"Baby, they're inside." LeShaen said
"Who's inside?" I asked
"Noodle, the others... they're in here. We got to get out!" LeShaen said yelling the last part and running away, I follow him and he runs into Grover.
"I think he's seeing things." I say to Grover and diesel
"We got to get out! It's not safe!"LeShaen yelled
"He thinks the freaks are in here." I said. LeShaen kept saying we needed to go before running off.
"Go, go! Get him! I got this. Come on, quick. Give me the board." Grover said using the board to board the door so the freaks couldn't get in.
"Mary is loose again." Barrett said
"No kidding." Grover said looking at Mary outside the door
"She was our only chance to learn more about them, and you let her go." Barrett said
"Maybe you need to take a step back and let us finish this before somebody gets hurt." Grover said
Mia's pov
"Can you stop fussing over me for a second and just be in this moment with me, I'm okay. Stop worrying" Noodle said I sighed sitting next to him on the couch.
"I'm sorry. I just can't stop worrying about you. I thought I lost you, and I don't want to.... No I can't feel like that again, I was so scared and hurt, I felt like my heart was just completely gone and there was nothing but pain left behind. I need you, I need to make sure your ok." I said
"I'm sorry you had to go through that baby but I'm still here, I'm not going anywhere. So stop worrying I'm never going to leave you alone ever again I promise." Noodle said
"My mind won't let me stop worrying" I said noodle smiled leaning in
"Then let me distract you" he said before bringing me to him and placing a soft kiss on my lips, our lips moving together in unison. Soon the kiss turned into a make out and Noodle grabbed my hips pulling me to straddle his waist kissing me only pulling away so he can take mine and his shirts off.
"We shouldn't, your stitches" I said
"Will be fine." He said pulling me back into the kiss.
Diesel's pov
" I have never messed somebody up like this, where it lasted." I said worrying about how I punched LeShaen to stop him from leaving the school.
"This isn't from getting punched." Zoey said
"You can't know that." I said
"Actually, I can." Zoey said
"Was he bitten?" Barrett asked
"No." Zoey responded
" Or exposed to the air outside?" Barrett asked
"He's not changing, stupid." Zoey said
"Guys! Zoe, if he's not morphing, then please, tell us what he is doing." Violet said
"He needs insulin." Zoey said
" He's diabetic?" Grover asked
"He might have been hallucinating. That can happen in the later stages. " Natalie said
"And you know this how?" Violet said
"I did an anatomy project on diabetes. " Natalie said
"He said this can happen if it gets really bad." Zoey said
"Great, just great. This would've been nice to know a little bit sooner." Grover said
"You're one to talk about informing the group of an issue." Barrett said
" So, he's got how long? One, two days?" I asked
"More like hours, maybe." Natalie said
"Don't say that." Zoey said
"There's a thousand students in this school. A thousand lockers. Teachers' desks. There's got to be insulin around here somewhere. We will find it for him." Violet said
"If we don't, he'll die. " Zoey said
Violets pov
"Need any help?" I asked Grover who was sreaching for insulin
"Not from you." Grover said
"I'm sorry I voted with Barrett." I said
" You voted against Mary." Grover said
"And someday, I'll explain why I did what I did. " I said
"You know, if you feel so bad about it, tell me now." Grover said
"I can't." I said
"Violet, you know Barrett. He doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself." Grover said
" Trust me, I know firsthand how low Barrett can be." I said
"Yet you decided to vote with him."Grover said
"Stop! He made me vote for him." I don't
"Made you? I was there. He didn't make you do anything." Grover said
" There are other ways to force people to do what you want." I said
"So he has something on you. " Grover asked
"I can't say." I said
"Don't worry about it. I don't know why I expect anything more from you. We've known each other less than a week. You don't owe me anything, and you didn't know Mary." Grover said
"Grover, it's not that simple." I said
"It is that simple! You had a choice to protect yourself, or to let somebody else get hurt. And you chose wrong." Grover said walking away.
Grover's pov
"Wait. I got this one. I know the combination." I said to diesel talking about the locker.
"Well, if it's yours, why are we checking it?" Diesel said
"It's not mine." I said looking at the picture in Mary's locker
"Look, man, I know this is harsh, but we don't have time for a pity party right now. We got to find insulin." Diesel said and we kept searching the lockers.
Zoey's pov
"You're nurturing." Barrett said watching me with LeShaen
"My boyfriend's sick. Of course I'm taking care of him." I said walking to the bathroom
"This is the girls' bathroom." I said noticing Barrett following me
" I know. If you were doing anything but getting water for LeSean, I'd give you your privacy." Barrett said
"You take care of your brothers too." Barrett said
"That's not creepy at all that you know about my brothers." I said
"You mentioned them in the lobby after the explosion. You were worried your mother wouldn't be able to calm them." Barrett said
"Yeah, we're not talking about my family." I said walking back to LeShaen
"LeSean is getting worse. Then there's not much time." I said noticing his comatose state
