Chapter 16

Mia's pov
I Woke up to Noodle slightly shaking me.
"Hey" I said
"Hey they found masks but only one works so we have to go see who is leaving"
"Okay" I said
"Zoey got you a sweater from lost and found. It's starting to get colder and she didn't want you to get cold" Noodle said handing me a purple sweater with white hearts.
"Come on" he said getting up and pulling me up. I put on my sweater and we started walking to the Cafeteria. I walked over to Zoey and hugged her.
"Thanks for the sweater Zoey I love it" I said
"I thought you would she replied sitting down next to LeShaen, I sat next to her and Noodle picked me up sat on the chair and then sat me on his lap. I giggled. He's so cute sometimes.
"Okay, so only one of us can go outside and look for help. We're drawing names. Everybody except Natalie." Violet said drawing everyone's attention
"No. No, I don't want to be treated differently." Natalie said
"In your state, you'd be at a distinct disadvantage if you go out there." Barrett said
"He's right." Violet said handing the names to Natalie to pick from.
"Diesel." Natalie said worriedly
"It's all right." Diesel said
"See if we need to make any adjustments. Put it on." Barrett said
"Hey, is something wrong?" Natalie said seeing diesels face
"Just give me a minute. I just don't like feeling closed in." Diesel said
"You're claustrophobic?" Natalie asked
"No. I'll be fine." Diesel said putting on the mask on breathing erratically and then gasping.
"He can't go out there. We can't waste our one mask on someone who might hyperventilate before he finds help." Barrett said taking the mask off diesel
"Back to the lottery." Barrett says pulling a name
"Mia" Barrett says
"No" Noodle, Zoey and Violet say
"My little sister is not going out there" Violet said
"Someone has to" Barrett said
"She's pregnant" Zoey said
"Zoey"I yelled.
"She's 11 weeks it's a girl" Zoey said
"Is that true?" Violet asks
"I was going to tell you tomorrow, but I guess I can't now" I said looking at Zoey
"I had to say something if I didn't Noodle would have you cant go out there" Zoey said
"I know Zoey, I'm not mad."
"You haven't been eating enough food" Natalie said
"I'm fine" I said
"She's not she needs more"Noodle said
"I'll go see what I can find" Natalie said
"No you don't.... And she's gone" I said
"Okay next person" Barrett said
"LeSean." Barrett said
"No. No. No, this isn't right! I'll be okay. It should be Diesel!" Zoey said
"Diesel can't do it. You know he would if he could. I'll be all right. You sure this shit gonna protect me?" LeShaen said
"About as sure as I am the gas mask will." Barrett said
"Uh, so, thank our dependable school security guard for keeping walkie-talkies in his locker. Your primary goal is to get to the fire station. If it's still there. It's the most likely place to find people, and if not, there should be a communication system so you can call for help. And if none of that works, raid a fridge and bring us back some water." Barrett said
"All right, got it." LeShaen said
"Let's get you suited up" Barrett said him, LeShaen and Zoey leaving the room.
"Here" Natalie said coming back and handing me some chips and cheese that was still left.
"Thanks Natalie"
"You should have told me I would have made sure you got more food and water" Natalie said
"Actually Noodle and I found some water yesterday on our walk we were going to tell everyone when we announced the baby but then all this happened." I said talking about the water in the drama costume room. There wasn't really that much left because Noodle made me drink a lot but there was enough to hopefully postpone LeShaen leaving.
"Well I think you should keep that to yourself you need it and LeShaens leaving anyway." Natalie said
"Your pregnant to" I said
"Yes but your babies a lot younger than mine and needs a lot more food." Natalie said walking away.
"See I told you, that you needed it the most" Noodle said
"Oh hush" I said lightly hitting him before leaning forward and staring to eat my food.
"Hey Mia" Violet said sitting across from me and Noodle
"Hey Vi" I said eating my food. I didn't realise how hungry I really was until I started eating just now.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Violet said causing me to stop eating and tolook at her.
"I didn't know how you would react and I was scared" I said looking at her
"But you told Zoey"
"Actually I didn't she overheard me and Noodle taking about it and asked."
"Are you sure about this?" Violet asked
"Yes. I love Noodle" I said
"You two are just kids" Violet said
"I knew you wouldn't be supportive" I said looking down. I could feel noodle rubbing my stomach trying to calm me down.
"All this stress isn't good for the baby if you don't have anything good to say I suggest you go away" Noodle said to Violet
"I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing that's all" Violet said before walking away.
"Don't worry about her baby she'll come around. Just eat your food." Noodle said to me
"She's my sister" I said
"Which is why she'll come around. She knows how much we love each other and she'll see that this isn't such a bad idea" Noodle said
"Your probably right" I said
"I'm always right" he said playfully
"Yeah whatever Chicken Noodle soup" I said
"Haha very funny" he said sarcastically
"I know" I said laughing and going back to eating my food.
"I love you baby" Noodle said kissing my temple
"I love you too" I said pecking his lips.
