Mia's pov
"So our lives depend on knockout gas made by Mia Adams?" Diesel asked
"Pretty much." I said
"That's it? That's the knockout gas?" Zoey asked
"Ether. It's strong shit." I said
" So we chuck that into the shelter?" Noodle asked
"It evaporates, and the freaks go down." I said
"Yeah, so do we." LeShaen said
"Shut up man" noodle said
"No, the gas is heavier than the air, so we wait for the freaks to fall asleep, the ether will settle, and then we'll go inside and get the masks. Simple enough." I said
"There has to be a better way." LeShaen said
"Oh, sure, we die of thirst." Violet said
"All right, let's get the others. We need to pick who's doing this." Grover said

" Barrett here's been in contact with somebody." Grover said entering the room.
"You're kidding." I said
"No, I-I just fixed it. I was asking for help, and I got someone... " Barr said
"Shut up.What'd he do?" Diesel said
"I got someone on the..." Barrett said
"Stop talking. I walked in, and he was talking to somebody on the radio, somebody that he knew." Grover said
"What should we do with him?" Diesel asks
"Um, we listen. He just said he found help." Zoey said
"Bullshit. I heard you talking to someone earlier." Violet said
"You misunderstood what you thought you heard me..." Barrett said
"Who was it?" Diesel asked
"I am telling you, I am just trying to help us." Barrett said
"We don't need your help." Violet said
"Oh, my God. I forgot. Mia made vodka. We're all safe." Barrett said
"Oh, it's stronger than you think." Violet said holding the gas.
"It's a potion. You honestly believe a bunch of genetic freaks are just gonna sniff that and s... s... " Barr said being knocked out when Violet opened the bottle of knock out gas under his nose
"Warn me?" Diesel said also getting hit by the gas, but not as bad as Barrett
" I'm thinking it works." Violet said
"I'm fine. I'm just dizzy." Diesel said
"Just drink some." Natalie said handing diesel some water
"How long till he wakes up?" Zoey said glancing at Barr
"Based on molarity, evaporation rate, 20 minutes.' Violet said
"So she says." Diesel said
"This was careless. You know, we're not you're guinea pigs." Natalie said
"She just meant to get Barrett. He had it coming." LeShaen said
"I hope I didn't." Diesel said
"The point is, you lost your temper. It was risky and at Diesel's expense." Natalie said
"I screwed up, okay? My bad. Jesus." Violet said walking out of the room
"Are you okay diesel?" I asked
"I'm fine Mia really. That shit you made works." Diesel said causing me to giggle
"Knocking you out is Not exactly what I intended to use it for" I said.
"I got to find Violet I'll be back" I said. Leaving to find my sister
"Whoever finds this, my name is Violet Adams, and everything that happened, the explosion at the plant, the whole disaster, it was all my fault. I swear I'm not the genocidal type. I was just trying to blow up a car... The cherry red pickup of a cheating asshole who worked at the plant. No, Zane, if you think you can use me and get away with it, you may want to look out at the parking lot. It doesn't matter. I did this. I'm responsible for all of it. And I'm sorry. I'm really... sorry." I heard Violet say I walked in and noticed her talking to the camera on her phone.
"It's not your fault Violet. We don't know what caused that explosion" I said
"You just don't want to believe it was me but it was" Violet said
"No it wasn't you just feel guilty because you believe that you did it but Violet you and I both know that the distance between where Zane parks and the actual plant is to far for the bomb on his car to have caused the plant to explode. It wasn't a big bomb Violet and it didn't cause all this." I said hugging her.

"All right, it's time to dance. Who's in?" Grover said
"Pair us up. Diesel's messed up." LeShaen said to Grover
"Me to" Zoey said
"We only need three. Me, Grover , and Violet. I... I fought them before. I can do it again. It's cool. You don't want to do this." LeShaen said quickly
"I just said that I did." Zoey said
"Look, baby, just..." LeShaen said
"Okay, I get what you're trying to say, but who just got all the chemicals?" Zoey said
"Exactly. You just took a huge risk. With Violet. Violet knows about the ether; you don't. Just relax." LeShaen said
"Could you have a little faith in me?" Zoey asked
"Look, we got this. It's okay." Violet said
"Fine. I'll be with Natalie and Mia." Zoey said
"Don't worry about it Zo Zo I have faith in you" I said
"Thanks Mi Mi I can always rely on you"
"Come on let's go up stairs and see if noodle and Natalie are looking after those knocked out idiots" I said
"Mia? Can I ask you something?"
"Sure"
"Why didn't Noodle volunteer to go in the bunker?"
"I asked him not to. I have a baby on the way I can't lose him."
Violets pov
"Look, the bottle needs to be thrown in the dead center of the room 20 feet in." I said
"If only we had an all-state point guard." Grover said tapping LeShaen
"I don't know about this." LeShaen said
"Hey, you got this. Come on" Grover said
"On three. One... two... three." I said opening the door as LeShaen threw the gas in the room.
Mia's pov
"You're not going in? " Natalie questioned seeing Zoey come back with me
"I wanted to go, but Lesean tried to talk me out of it." Zoey said
"Well, I'm sure he was just trying to protect you." Natalie said
"I don't need saving." Zoey said
"You're cheer captain. You can run a 40 in, like, 2 seconds. He knows that." Natalie said
"I just fought a freak, and he still treats me like a diva."
"You don't think he respects you?" Natalie said
"He worships me." Zoey said
"Yeah, it's not the same thing." Natalie said
