Outside

I don't want to go on my phone
And I don't want to go home
I want to go out
And go insane
Inside's too boring
Let's go outside
And feel alive

As the sun goes down
The vibrant sky
Shows auroras of color
Shadows hug my shoulder
And the coolness of the wind
Wants me to go in

The blue is the dark of night
Coming to bring me dreams of sand
The light is bittersweet
Memories from the yellow
The bright yellow day
That fades with the pink
Of the sickening smoke
From everyday cities
Which mixes with the red
The emotion
Passion
Burning our heart and soul

The sun sets
Leaving it dark
Till the moon comes
And the stars come out to play
And we dance around the fire
Shadows appear
And hug each other
As we lean near
To one another
And share warmth
From the hearts of the youth

As the deep night comes
And shares tales of past lives
Late nights
And old wives
The present comes to lead us
The past comes to haunt us
Out in the open
Outside in the night
Drunk kisses and fights
And laughs and quiet
A better place
A better time
Is when I'm outside.
