Elizabeth helped me make my way weakly up the stairs to my house. I paused at the door. What was it like inside? The same? Different? Haunting?

"It's okay Ruby," Elizabeth said as she squeezed my hand and gave me a faint smile. I tried to give one back but I felt my lips quiver and my eyes got misty. "Let's wait for the boys then," she said and then we took a seat on the steps. I know she wanted to help me but I didn't know how to let her or anyone help me at this point. I leaned on Elizabeth's shoulder and let s few tears slip down my face.

After spending so long in the hospital I had almost no perception of time so it seemed like two minutes before the boys showed up but according to my phone, it had taken almost twenty minutes.

Josh got out of the car first and he ran over to me but slowed as he came closer and saw my red and puffy eyes with tears slipping out of them yet again. I felt myself shaking and my lips quivering then I heard sobbing that I realized was my own and I was pulled into an embrace of Josh Dun who smelled of nothing in particular other than safety. I felt another set of arms around me and I could only assume they were Tyler Joseph's. I felt my knees weaken and then it felt like the ground just disappeared from underneath me which led to a blur of events including being carried by Josh and all three of my only friends sitting next to me in bed until two of them left and it was just Josh and I.

"Ruby, you'll be okay... I-I wish I could help you just, I can't..." Josh stuttered on almost every word he said and his voice was shaky. My sight was blurred by the tears that just kept streaming without stop until Josh wiped some off my cheeks and I was able to reduce the tear flow. His face was wet with tears and I just grabbed his hand that had been resting near mine. I laid there looking up at Josh and saw his eyes sparkling and I reached up and brushed away his tears.

"I'm sorry..." I said as I pulled my hand back and held it close to my chest. Josh only smiled and pushed my dark brown hair out of my face then he leaned over and placed a kiss on my forehead. I felt my eyelids get heavy and I didn't have any time to respond to his action that made my stomach do a back flip and my heart beat two thousand miles an hour.

I woke up and felt something warm on my chest. It was Phil and by the looks of it, he had fallen a sleep on my chest. I looked around the room with my tired eyes and saw Josh huddled on the floor with some blankets and a pillow. I nudged Phil gently and woke him up so that I could get up. I stood up shakily and walked over to Josh. I sat down next to him cross legged and brushed a tuft of pink hair out of his face. His face looked soft as he slept and then I saw his eyes flutter open.

"Josh..." I whispered. He cracked a smile and I giggled. He reached his hand up and cupped my face with it.

"You're cute when you laugh," I felt myself turn red and I laughed even more, making me cover my face with my hands and fall backwards on to my carpeted floor. Before I took my hands off my face again, I felt Josh pick me up in his arms again and I felt safe. I slowly took my hands off my face and then Josh quickly placed a kiss on my forehead. I felt myself get red again and I buried my face into his chest. Then I heard a knock on the door.

"C'mon Josh, stop hogging her..." I heard Tyler's voice and then I opened up my fingers up a bit to see that I was being carried down my hallway towards to stairs. I took my hands off my face and Josh just smiled down at me. He continued to carry me into the living room and set me down on the couch and I could see all three of my friends around me. I smiled.

"There it is..." I heard Elizabeth say under her breath. I let a little bit more a smile slip through and then I felt her arms wrap around me. I laughed as tears slid down my face yet again but they were tears of joy this time.

"It's good to have you back Ruby..." I heard Tyler whisper and I smiled into his shoulder.

So I know not a lot of people are reading this but I'm going to try and get on a weekly updating schedule!! Hoping to post at least on chapter every Sunday from now on. :)
