A/N: If you read chapter 5 before I edited it and added the author's note, I changed the name of the a cappella group to a fictional one :) They're called CalTones now! And I know Christmas is a week away but I hope you enjoy this fall themed chapter anyway, haha.

Mitch was stood in the middle of the CalTones house, dressed from head-to-toe in black with zombie makeup covering his face.

CalTones' annual Halloween concert had just ended a few hours ago. It had been Mitch's first ever public performance with the group – he'd sang with them what felt like a million times by now, but it was always just during rehearsals. He'd never performed with them in front of an audience until that very night.

He had to say that it was a little odd having to do his first performance with them dressed as a goth zombie. But zombies were the group's costume theme that year, so he hadn't had much of a choice.

Otherwise, Mitch was actually really happy with how it had went. He hadn't been excessively nervous beforehand, and although he hadn't had any solos, he was still pleased with his vocals.

His night was going even better now that he was at the afterparty. The Big Bear trip had been a great way to initially bond with everyone, and now that he'd been attending frequent rehearsals with them for the past month Mitch definitely considered himself to be good friends with most the group. He and Jasmine had even gone shopping for their costumes together.

And although there were plenty of people at the party who weren't in the group as well, Mitch had enough friends in attendance that he felt totally comfortable.

Mitch finally understood why Scott had gushed about CalTones so much to him during his first year at college. They were just as fantastic as Scott had always made them out to be.

And now Mitch had no reason to feel jealous whenever he heard about them, because he was a part of the magic, too.

Mitch took another sip of his drink as he walked around the house. He was looking for Scott; they'd been separated for a little over an hour now, and although Mitch was doing just fine without him, he'd just witnessed something hilarious that he really wanted to tell his best friend about.

His search wasn't exactly going very well, though. The last time he interacted with Scott, Mitch had been teasing him for how wasted he was going to be after taking his fifth shot of the night. Assuming that Scott probably had a few more since then, it was very possible that he was passed out somewhere.

Mitch perked up when he suddenly noticed a flash of neon yellow out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head in the right direction to get a better look.

Clearly he wasn't passed out after all. Mitch watched from across the room as Scott ascended the stairs, his bright hard hat that went along with his 'construction worker zombie' costume making him stick out like a sore thumb.

Mitch had remembered thinking when they were getting ready that evening that Scott had looked extremely hot in it, even with the ridiculous zombie makeup on.

Now that he'd spotted Scott he instantly began to walk towards him, determined to tell Scott his funny story.

But then he realized that Scott wasn't alone. He stopped himself after just a few steps, his face falling.

Standing with his arm wrapped around Scott's waist as they walked up the stairs together was Lucas.

Mitch had been in the group long enough now that he was finally used to Lucas' presence. They weren't exactly friends, but Mitch could handle being in the same room as him without much problem, at least.
