A/N: I was in a hurry while editing this but I hope it's still okay!! I also hope you're ready for some pure fluff lol.

"Since you're in such a good mood right now... I kiiiinda have something that I need to tell you."

It was Scott who had uttered those words, he and Mitch just getting back to their dorm room from the CalTones meeting.

Mitch froze where he stood in the center of their room. "I'm afraid."

"Don't be!" Scott replied. The look on his face did absolutely nothing to comfort Mitch. "You're gonna love it."

Mitch narrowed his eyes. "Then why do I need to be in a good mood for you to tell me?"

"Because every other time I've surprised you like this you get all pissy at me, that's why," Scott replied playfully.

Mitch simply gave him an unamused stare.

"I may have planned a surprise trip for us," Scott explained finally. "And we might be leaving for it tomorrow morning."

"You're joking," Mitch replied flatly.

"No," Scott smiled sheepishly. "I know it's short notice but I only planned it a few days ago.  It's a long weekend and I really wanted us to get out together and do something special. You've been holed up in our room all week."

Mitch was torn between being irritated that Scott was springing this on him the night before and feeling flattered that he would actually do something like this for him. "Please just tell me there will be no physical activity involved," he begged. "I'm not down for hiking, or canoeing... or ice skating."

Scott let out one of those adorable, crinkly-eyed, scrunchy-nosed laughs of his. The kind that made it impossible for Mitch to be upset with him, even if they were going to be doing physical activity. "No physical activity. I promise," Scott confirmed. "Just me and you relaxing together."

Mitch's facial expression softened. "Scott. You really didn't need to do that for me."

"I wanted to," Scott shrugged. "You've been so down lately and it's fucking killing me, Mitchy. I thought that a getaway just the two of us might help. I wanna see you smile again."

Sometimes Mitch's heart actually ached from how much he adored Scott Hoying. This was one of those moments.

Mitch took a deep, shaky breath. "You're literally the best friend I could ever ask for, you know that right?"

For a split second, something strange flashed on Scott's face. Mitch didn't really know how to describe it other than sadness – which was the last thing he should be feeling in that moment. But it was gone within seconds, a huge grin taking over his face instead. "Yeah, I know," he joked.

Mitch stayed quiet as he examined Scott's features, trying to figure out if he was upset about something. But he seemed to be perfectly fine.

He must've been imagining it.

"I'm not, really," Scott added seriously, breaking the silence. "I just want you to be happy, that's all. If anyone deserves happiness it's you."

At that, Mitch didn't hesitate to cross the room and wrap his arms around Scott in a tight hug "You make me happy, Scott," Mitch mumbled, burying his face into his neck.

Mitch felt Scott wrap his own arms around him in return. "That's all I want to do," he murmured softly in response.

Mitch stayed there for a long while, just enjoying the feeling of Scott holding him.
