Plot summary-
Violet Thompson is quiet- a melt-into-the-crowd kind of girl with no social life and no friends except her dog Caspar. When the uncoordinated kid from down the road hits her with a soccer ball, she falls in love with him.

They start a typical twelve year old friendship, with bike rides and computer games, but Violet's heart yearns for more, and a proper relationship blossoms. However, Violet's loud and rough father decides to try and come in between her and her friend, and Violet hatches a plan to get rid of him, not knowing how much she could lose in the process.
