It was about 9:43 when I heard Blaire's squeaky voice call out for her dad, she called out for my mom too, At the time I was outside, I couldn't sleep last night, and I cleaned my room, My reasoning was, because I was beginning to get sore from looking at the pile of unsorted boxes, but I knew better than to have Blaire yell at me like a toddler on crack about me being messy, even if she was a brat about it. She didn't call out for me so I didn't come to her, possibly the biggest mistake I had committed that year, Mom had told me, that I had to watch the house while David and her went to look for a surprise for me and Blaire, My mom was a character so I didn't give her much thought, all I knew is that I was stuck being a babysitter to the girl that's been on my mind since I met her.

I saw her walk out the door, and go directly Into the forest, camera in hand, she looked radiant, her copper-colored hair dancing with her walk, she looked like a fairy. with a quirky, sort of magical way of walking, fast enough and clumsy to make her look cute, even when she walked.

That scene on the couch last night, made me fall 15 feet deeper into her spell, magic, or voodoo.

I wanted her now more than ever, Her Emerald jeweled eyes were now burned into my skull making it impossible for me to forget how she looked at me, with 'want' and I yearned for her lips. To plant my flag to let her know, I was a savage, and I wanted her.

My phone rang, jolting me back to reality, I looked at the screen in justified disappointment at my Girlfriends photo

-"Hey Eli" I greeted her
-"Teddy bear!" she groaned, making me cringe in place, I hated when she called me that
-"Yeah?" I asked trying to get this over with
-"You didn't call me? where have you been!?" she demanded
-"Moving furniture around. what else could I be doing?" I said.
-"Oh, well, I thought I could take a road trip there next weekend-" I cut her off
-"Elizabeth, I told you, I had no interest in being with you, besides how do I know you're not up at Tyler's fanny right now?" she went silent
-"That was in the past Babe," she said quietly.

-"Right, I gotta go, I'm busy" I coldly said, I hung up before she could say anything else.
I wouldn't put it past her to be with Tyler right now, she was just that kind of girl, I knew her too well and she had disappointed me way too many times. I quickly deleted her number, putting this chapter behind me.

It was 11:30 when I heard a bloodcurdling scream emerge from the Forest, I Jumped, hitting the back of my head on the hood of the car, The scream was so sudden and frightening, every hair on my body stud up and I took off inside the Forest

God damn it, I was terrified, I screamed at the top of my lungs -"Blaire" Fuck Fuck Fuck,

I quickly came to a stop, a creek met my feet, The currents were too strong, When I saw her hanging to life on a rock. her eyes stared back at mine, full of unadulterated fear and terror. I jumped in. I swam as hard as I could, the water was freezing, and the currents dragged me to sharp rocks, But if I didn't get to her, she was gonna die. -dear god let me reach her, I found myself pleading, The fanatical struggle didn't seem to meet the end, -"Blaire, swim to me, I'll catch you" I pleaded, I screamed, she tried to struggle to meet me in the freezing waters when I saw her face turn in to one of horror, I heard her fumble my name ten times in exasperation when she finally gathered her words -"My foot, Dean, My foot is stuck I can't get it out" In between sobs -"I'm gonna die here dean I'm gonna die here" She repeated over and over again. Damn it, No, I won't let that happen.

"look at me Blai-" --"I'm gonna die here Dean, I'm gonna die" She wouldn't stop crying, I couldn't take it, I felt past the breaking point and the currents wouldn't let me reach her,"god damn it no" I yelled and tossed myself to the current's will once again, I stretched out my arm, "Give me your hand, Give me your hand" I pulled her to me with the last bit of strengths I had in me, Almost divinely provided to me for this very cause, she held on tight to me, burring her nails on my wrist, The pain was nothing, it meant we were getting out of this, alive. I finally pulled us both to dry land,

I laid in the mud on the edge of the furious river, I couldn't move, I was just minutes away from death, the battle I just fought and won, was taxing not only on my body but my mind as well, Blaire was too exhausted to do anything other than lay on my chest and quietly whimper. I placed my hand on her head and stroked her soaked hair.
-"Is anything broken?" I asked, she was quiet for a few seconds, -"just scratches and a few bruises, nothing hurts too much." she quietly confirmed.
-"Is anything broken?" she asked me in a hushed voice, "Just a few scratches I guess" I replied

"Our parents are gonna kill us," she said as she cleaned up a cut on my left rib, I wailed when the alcohol touched the area, "Hey! keep your arm up, I'm not done." she squealed, I looked at her with an impassive expression, "How about you? you haven't cleaned your wounds." I asked she was notably upset, "I"m gonna be fine, we are both in the same state anyways, after I'm done patching you up, I'll do the same for me," she said quietly. I scoffed, "You're an idiot," I said under my breath, she didn't say anything. "How on earth did you fall in?" I was genuinely bewildered, she pulled my arm back down and continued cleaning the bigger wound on my shoulder, the alcohol on the area made me groan in pain, "I'm sorry" she murmured without meeting my eyes, "I'm sorry, I couldn't hear that" I said in a playful tone. "I'm sorry, Dean, I am, I'm eternally grateful to you, If it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't be here feeling sorry for myself, You risked your life for me, and never in a million years will I be able to repay you, I'm lucky to have you." I looked at her, she stared back at me "I mean it" she murmured getting back to patching up my wound
I trembled, her genuine apology made me happy, and those fastidious feelings from before peeked through a narrow opening on my mind. "Blaire..." -"it's my fault Dean, I shouldn't be so reckless, I shouldn't do things on impulse,-"  Her guilty expression, convinced me that she was truly sorry, then I realized that I had jumped in freezing waters for this person, that I had just swum against the currents for her, I still couldn't begin to grasp the situation, why on earth would I go so far for someone I just met.

she kissed me, my heart then betrayed me, and my body did too, I kissed her back.
