It was exactly 5:00 pm on a Tuesday,
And I found myself driving down to Benjamin's place, In my mind I wanted to feel safe, as if nothing was going to happen this was a straight forward cut and dry process and at the end I'd get payed, But the feeling Ben oozed, was that of danger and even though every red flag had been raised in me, I couldn't for the life of me turn the car around, I wanted to know, to test these feelings I had.
But there was another thing- I wanted to go back home, I promised Blaire I would and I already wanted to see her, I wanted to hear her laugh, I wanted to play Mario kart with her, It was a weird feeling, something I was no stranger to, but I felt like I've never lived it before, or maybe I had missed this feeling, but I didn't understand it, I couldn't understand why I felt this way, but after the talk we had in the car, I figured there was no point in fighting it anymore, I wanted to see where this dangerous attraction would take me.

Blaire, I thought of her, a tinge of guilt took me, I left her alone at home.
I took my phone and picked Pearl's number,
-"Hey, Dean!" She greeted me, with that familiar warmness all smiles with her
-"Hey Pearl, what are you up to?" I asked hoping that she wasn't working.
-"Nothing much honestly," she said in a sigh, that was a good sign.
-"Are you at the diner?" I asked.
-"nope!" She quickly responded -"do you need something?" She asked intrigued. I was crazy, right? Was I really going to do this? I didn't know Blaire that well but the thought of not knowing what she was up to or if she was okay was eating at me, what if she tossed herself into the creek again and I'm not around, I shuddered, yes, I was going to do this.
-"I left Blaire alone at home, I'm worried" I pushed the words out,
The line went quiet and I could almost see Pearl's cheeky little grin drawn on her face. She giggled
-"Okay, fine Romeo, I get it, I'll check on her for you," She said, relief went over me,
-"Thank you!" I sigh, catching my breath, She hung up. I silently thanked the gods she didn't ask any questions.

When I finally arrived at the location Ben had sent, I was met with nothing but a dirt road on the side of the asphalt, confused I checked to make sure I was at the right place.

I looked up from my phone and flinched when I saw Benjamin's face pressed against the glass of my car, the dumb ass was smiling wide as soon as he realized he spooked me. He tapped on the glass and at this point, I was tempted to floor it and forget about all this mess.
I rolled down the window and glared at him,
-"It's just up ahead the dirt road!" He said excitedly.
He reached his hand inside the car and unlocked the door.
He quickly sat inside and the smell of cigarettes and body spray invaded the car, completely overtaking Blaire's soft strawberry scent, putting me in a sour mood.
-"The boys are so excited to meet you, they'll flip out when they see your car, I told them everything about it!" He smiled at me and I could tell he was really happy I made it.
I couldn't say anything, I actually really like it when people complimented my work, I lived for my car.
-"The boys?" I asked, worried that I was going to get jumped
-"Yeah, they are friends of mine, we started our own garage, they're all pretty cool"
I nodded quietly, maybe it wasn't going to be that bad.

We made it to the end of the dirt road and were met with a rundown wooden house, the house was big and old, it resembled a colonial house, with a porch and everything, enormous front yard, and hidden within a clearing of the pine trees.

-"Okay, go to the back that's where my workshop's at"

I went to the side of the house and was met with a colossal backyard, the floor was dirt and gravel at the end there was a shed, but maybe a bit bigger than a normal shed.
-"park there" he pointed, at a group of amazing cars, were they all his?
I was taken aback by the cars there, Porches 911, Shelby mustang, and I saw a Volkswagen beetle somewhere in the corner, Blaire would have loved to see that one, she did like quirky things, just seeing her smiling face in my head, was sending me in to a better mood, that was until Ben's rusty voice cut through.
-"You like the bug?" he expressed disappointingly, he shook his head, "Ray better not hear about this, he already has a big head about buying that piece of junk" he said chuckling quietly.
-"The beetle is a really resilient car, if He takes good care of it it will last him long," I said, trying to jump back to the memory of Blaire's silly laugh.
-"That may be true, but they are not very fast" Ben pointed out.
What was this guys obsession with speed, I guess I'll never understand it.
